周先生的这枚钱币系五代十国，闽国钱，永隆通宝背闽月。据《十国纪年 闽史》记载：王延义永隆四年八月，铸永隆通宝大铁钱，一当铅钱百。“永隆四年（942）时，改国号为闽”，故永隆通宝背闽月钱也是国号钱。据今所见，永隆通宝有铁，铜，铅三种材质，绝大多数为铁钱，铜和铅钱仅见个例。永隆通宝大铜钱为隶书体，对读，有多种写法，风韵古朴，颇有拙趣，背穿上有“闽”字和下月纹。因铸期短，铸量稀现十分罕见。周先生这枚永隆通宝背闽月大铜钱保存完好，品相一流，红斑绿锈兼带结晶氧化物，开门见山，极为难得。


【永隆通宝背闽月】中国古代钱币的一种，中国现今发现数量最少的铸币。五代十国时期闽王延义永隆四年（公元942年）铸。钱文四字书体，钱文字体在行书、隶书之间。闽国永隆通宝钱，传世甚少。它与同时期据有建州的殷闽第一主王延政于天德二年（即永隆6年，公元944年）所铸“天德重宝”，皆被视为迄今难得的钱币品种之一，钱币界有“永隆、天德世难求”之说。根据图片看，据上海古玩检测站进行的金属成分检测数据分析，为真品。估价为180一220万左右。

闽国永隆通宝，传世甚少。五代初期，人称“白马三郎”的王审知继其兄王潮占据福建，受梁封闽王。王审知为政清明，“轻徭薄敛，与民休息，三十年间，一境晏然”，使得僻处一隅的福建相对烽火遍野的中原，宛然是个安居乐业的世外桃源。然而在他身后，血腥的夺位之争一再发生，父子相残，兄弟相攻，几无宁日。长子延翰嗣立后被次子延钧所杀；延钧（改名鏻）在位十年，为其子继鹏（即位后改名昶）所弑；三年后，控鹤都将连重遇等迎立审知三子延羲，杀昶，改元永隆。

永隆年间，审知四子延政于943年在建州自立称帝，国号殷，改元天德。第二年，延羲被连重遇所杀，延政趁机欲并吞全闽，岂料螳螂捕蝉，黄雀在后，旋即（945年）却为南唐袭灭，身为俘虏，“天德”年号仅仅存在了两年。这对同根相煎的兄弟可能无法想象，千年之后，他们所铸造的永隆和天德大钱，会双双成为中国古代钱币中难得一睹的传奇大珍。永隆通宝形制与闽开元一脉相承，系用陶范所铸，铁钱时可一见，铅钱已称珍罕，铜钱则为可遇不可求之物。
