金马碧鸡坊位于昆明市中轴线的三市街与金碧路交叉口，从传说到成为昆明市地标，金马碧鸡坊历经百年变迁，却依旧璀璨流芳。

Golden Horse and Jade Rooster Archways are located at the crossing of Sanshi Street and Jinbi Road, which are central axis of Kunming City. The two archways undergo changes of a century from a legend to a landmark of Kunming City, and they remain impressive as before.

金马碧鸡坊曾因各种原因几经拆毁、重建，现在的牌坊高12米，宽18米，极具昆明民俗特色，牌坊上覆盖着金色的琉璃瓦，雕梁画栋，精美绝伦。

Golden Horse and Jade Rooster Archways were dismantled and restored for several times due to various reasons. Now the archways are 12m high, 18m wide and of great folklore features. The archways are covered with golden glazed tiles and carved beams and painted rafters, making them exquisite.

二坊唯一不同的是，金马坊上端画着两匹金黄的骏马，而碧鸡坊上画的则是凤凰，而它的设计体现了古代云南人对数学、天文学和建筑学方面的造诣。

The only difference between these two archways is that two golden horses are painted on the Golden Horse Archway, while a phoenix is painted on the Jade Rooster Archway. The design embodies ancient Yunnan people’s accomplishments in mathematics, astronomy and architecture
