The 2019 Xinzhuang Plum Blossom Exhibition
This year, the plum blossom exhibition will be held in Xinzhuang Park and Xinzhuang Plum Blossom Garden at the same time, and visitors will have the opportunity to see great varieties of plum blossoms and bonsais in these parks. This exhibition will run until March 12, 2019.

Plum Blossoms in Spring Wind, Good Luck and Five Blessings Descending upon the House
Plum Blossoms in Spring Wind: This gardening landscape spot is situated at the large lawn. Huge fans made of plants, plum blossoms and bonsais, grasses and flowers created a beautiful scene of spring.
Good Luck: This landscape spot is situated at the East Garden of Xinzhuang Park. Visitors will see five golden pigs and wooden-frame windows here. Plum blossoms, plants and cute pigs symbolize good luck in the New Year.
Five Blessings Descending upon the House: Remember the event, “blessing collection” during the Spring Festival holidays? Folk legend goes that plum blossoms symbolize five blessings: good luck, fortune, longevity, happiness and money. Wish everyone has these five blessings this year.

Trace of Spring and Plum Blossom in Three Movements
Trace of Spring: This landscape spot is situated at the big lawn. Cute mushroom house, greenery sculptures in animal shapes, plum blossoms and other flowers created joyful, harmonious and vigorous atmosphere in spring.
Plum Blossom in Three Movements: This landscape spot is situated at the big lawn. Traditional Chinese musical instruments, ink and wash paintings, elegant plants, such as pine tree, bamboo, plum blossom, narcissus and Primula malacoides, created a soul-stirring melody, “Plum Blossom in Three Movements”. This spot shows how plum blossom is applied in traditional culture and highlights the important role of plum blossom in horticulture.

11 Species and 96 Varieties of Plum Blossoms
11 species and 96 varieties of plum blossoms are displayed on the exhibition, including 45 in Xinzhuang Park and 51 in Xinzhuang Plum Blossom Garden. Do you know these precious varieties of plum blossoms?
This is the weeping plum blossom. As the flower blooms, its color gradually changes from deep pink to light pink. The flower’s buds are deep pink. When the flowers are in full bloom, the tree is full of light pink flowers. They look very spectacular, like numerous flying pink butterflies.
This is the green weeping plum blossom. The flower looks like a dish. It has petals with two layers, light green calyx and luxuriant buds. When the flowers are in full bloom, the branches are decorated with numerous flowers like shining stars, and the tree’s posture looks elegant and unconventional.
Su-bai-tai-ge: Degenerated pistils evolved into little flowers, and these fragrant flowers are named “Tai-ge”. This is a rarely-seen plum blossom. When it is in full bloom, the “Tai-ge” inside the flower also blooms, and forms a unique scene that flowers could be seen within flowers.
This plum blossom is named “Da-hua-gong-feng”. The diameter of flower is extremely large. It has several layers of petals. The pink flowers are very fragrant.
Jin-qian-lv-e: This plum blossom has sparse buds. The calyx and buds could be seen at the same time. The outline of flower looks like flying butterfly. This variety of plum blossom has rich aroma and high value for appreciation.
Scarlet Weeping Plum Blossom
This variety was cultivated by Xinzhuang Plum Blossom Garden in 2016. It grows extremely well this year and will be in full bloom on the exhibition. There are 20 trees of this variety in the park. Each tree is 3 to 4 meters high. Remember to take a look at this plum blossom tree if you visit the park.
