英国著名朋克电子乐队The Prodigy主唱Keith Flint自杀离世，享年49岁。

警方接到报警，前往他的寓所，但到达时发现他已经去世，“死因无可疑”。

The Prodigy乐队创始人之一Liam Howlett证实他是自杀，“The news is true, I can't believe I'm saying this but our brother Keith took his own life over the weekend”（消息是真的，我无法相信我这么说，但我们的兄弟Keith，在这个周末夺走了自己的性命）。

因为备受毒品、酒精、药物及抑郁症困扰，Flint生前多次坦率地展现自己荒唐失控的生活，并表现出厌世的想法，“when I'm done, I'll kill myself”，我受够了，就会了结自己。

I got bang into coke, weed, drinking a lot. This made me reclusive, boring and shallow.

I'd line up rows of pills and just take them and take them and I'd lose track of how many until I passed out.

Flint以魔鬼般的尖角发型著称，并成为英国流行音乐史上著名的形象之一。进入乐团初期只是Dancer，直到1996年的大热作品《Firestarter》及《Breathe》，他开始作为歌手及核心人物出现，并为乐团从地下场景步入国际主流层面，奠定电子摇滚天团的地位。The Prodigy乐队也跟同期的Fatboy Slim、Chemical Brothers等音乐人一起，成为“Big Beat”风潮的引领者。

实际上，他们差点可以在90年代初夺冠，1991年的单曲《Everybody in the Place (Fairground Edit)》最高为亚军，惜败于“皇后”乐队的《波西米亚狂想曲》----这首歌在乐队主唱Freddie Mercury去世后重新发行并再度夺冠。

Keith去世的消息传出后，多位名人表达惋惜与痛心，The Chemical Brothers的Ed Simons发推悼念： "Oh gosh, so sad to hear about Keith Flint, he was always great fun to be around and very kind to Tom and I when we first started doing shows together.. great man."

除了作为Prodigy的主脑出现在舞台上，他还有自己的乐队Flint，他的生活方式更贴近摇滚而不是舞曲，他是重度的机车（摩托车）发烧友，2007年，曾经驱车从英国前往西班牙，历程2000多公里（1500英里）；也曾与Madness乐团的Lee Thomson一起驱车上路。他还拥有自己的车队Traction Control，2015年获得Isle of Man TT races大赛三个奖项。

他太太是日本女DJ Mayumi Kai。

乐队去年年底才发表第七张大碟《No Tourists》，并成为他们连续第七张英国榜冠军大碟。上月，才刚刚结束新西兰巡演，那也是乐团最后一次公开表演，原定五月将开始美国巡演。乐团最后一次访华行程是2017年香港的Clockenflap音乐节。
