如果要说娱乐圈的神仙眷侣，刘诗诗吴奇隆绝对榜上有名。

2011年，吴奇隆因火遍亚洲的穿越剧《步步惊心》迎来事业“第二春”，刘诗诗也凭该剧在第九届金鹰电视艺术节网络票选活动中被评为“金鹰女神”。两人除了事业走向高峰，更是因戏擦出了火花，2013年双方承认恋情，网友纷纷送上祝福。

在娱乐圈，刘诗诗一向是出了名的低调，几乎零绯闻。即使婚后，两人也很少露面，偶尔被媒体拍到，也是包裹严实，但双方对彼此爱意完全是藏不住的。

去年12月20日，两人在微博上“官宣”刘诗诗怀孕，步入人生中的一个新阶段，就连这个官宣日期也是超级用心的，吴奇隆（576）+刘诗诗（644）＝12月20日，你发现了吗？

近日，台媒曝刘诗诗预产期将在下个月，网友们都期待着小辛巴的到来，吴奇隆也在为戏见习当保姆，想必一定做好了当奶爸的准备。

因为在网上看到了这个话题，普特君突然想到了一个问题，根据中国的传统，孕妇在生产后，需要用一个月（顺产）或42天（剖腹产）的时间进行休养，也就是我们所说的“坐月子”。

但西方国家一般“坐月子”的习惯，如果用英文来表达“坐月子”，该怎么说呢？

早前，BBC关于中国孕妇“坐月子”做过一篇报道，“坐月子”这件事，一直让很多英国人觉得不可思议。

但也说不定几年后，“sitting the month”会像“add oil”一样录入一些权威词典。

其实BBC关于“坐月子”还给出了一个表达，来看看具体报道：

Postnatal confinement - where new mothers do not leave the house, have visitors or shower for a month after giving birth - is said to be widespread among the UK’s Chinese community. Experts warn that few in the medical profession know this occurs.

“坐月子”-在英国的华人社区中，新妈妈在分娩后一个月的时间里，，既不能出门，也不接待客人，还不能洗澡。专家称医学界很少有人知道这个事情。

同时呢，关于中国产妇“坐月子”，BBC采访了一位伦敦的华裔新妈妈：

Being confined in your flat is important, says Ching Ching Turner, from her home in London that she has not left since giving birth 28 days earlier.

Ching Ching Turner在伦敦的家里接受采访，“产后坐月子非常，”自从28天前分娩，她就再没出过门。

Mrs Turner argues confinement is an important process as traditional belief is that the mother and baby’s immunity is very low.

She is of Chinese ethnicity, and says: "For us, if you don’t practise it you’re kind of disadvantaging yourself."

Confinement is common across Asia and in China there are special hospitals where mothers stay confined for a month, sometimes only seeing their babies once a day.

在中国和亚洲的一些其他有国家，坐月子是很常见的。当地有很多专门的月子会所，产后妈妈可以在那里呆一个月的时间来修养，有时一天只能看一次孩子。

It is carried out because traditional Chinese medicine purports that women who have just given birth are more susceptible to cold air, and becoming ill as a result.

Mrs Turner, who believes she has "done confinement in a modern way" by still showering for example, says her wishes came as a surprise to her husband, who was born in the UK.

Turner认为自己已经通过现代的方式在“坐月子”，比如在此期间，她还是会洗澡，即使这样，“坐月子”这件事依然让她的英国丈夫感到惊讶。

I don’t think he realised that [confinement] came with a whole set of rules, she says.

Turner觉得自己的丈夫不懂“坐月子”的具体完整规则。

It was a bit difficult for him as he wanted to show off his baby.

“这对他来说有点困难，因为他急于展示孩子。”

But now we’ve nearly completed the month, he sees the benefits."

在BBC这篇报道中，“坐月子”有两个说法，一个是根据中文直译的“Sitting the month”，再有一个就是比较形象的Postnatal confinement。

“坐月子”除了这两个说法，维基百科上也有一个比较标准的表达：

  • Postpartum confinement

其实分析一下，这个表达跟BBC的第二个差不多，postpartum的意思也是“产后的”。像“产后抑郁症”既可以翻译为Postpartum depression(PPD)，也可翻译为Postnatal depression.

所以Postpartum confinement；Postnatal confinement这两个表达，相对来说都是标准的。

最后，再跟大家分享一些关于“怀孕”的英文表达：

  • 大家想到的第一个估计就是Pregnant，一定要记住，pregnant是形容词：

She was eight months pregnant at the time.

她已有8个月的身孕了。

  • 除了pregnant，这几个简单的句子都可以用来表达怀孕：

She is going to have a baby.

她将有自己的小宝宝的。

She is going to be a mother.

她将要成为一个母亲了。

She is carrying a child.

她现在怀着身孕。

  • 英语中关于“怀孕”还有两个含蓄的表达：

Have a bun in the oven (informal, humorous:to be pregnant)

美国俚语，非正式表达，但同样也表示怀孕，比较幽默。

Baby bump

指孕肚，小腹隆起

You could see her baby bump, even though she was only two months pregnant.

你可以看到她小腹隆起，虽然她怀孕才两个月。
