Each Meerkat is delicately hand-carved from a single piece of Jacaranda wood in Harare, Zimbabwe. The fine eyes and other darker-colored details are burned into the wood.

As indigenous hard woods became increasingly scarce, this Merekat sculture is made from non-endangered Jacaranda wood. Much care is taken in the carving and finishing of this product, and this same care is extended to the selection, maintenance and delivery of these finished one-of-a-kind sculptures. Carved from a single piece, these wood animals are beautifully polished and carefully crafted.
