Restaurant staff: Okay, follow me.

餐厅服务员：好的，跟我来。

Will this table be okay?

这张桌子可以吗？

Mom: Yes, this is great.

妈妈：嗯，可以的。

Mom: Do you have a high chair or booster seat?

妈妈：你们有高餐椅或者加高儿童座椅吗？

Staff: Yes, we do have high chairs.

服务员：有的，我们有高餐椅。

I'll bring you one.

我一会儿给您拿一个。

Do you have a children's menu?

你们有儿童菜单吗？

Staff: Yes, we do, I will bring one over.

服务员：嗯，有的，我一会儿拿过来一份。

Would you like some crayons for the child?

您需要我给孩子拿点儿蜡笔吗？

注：初到国外，点餐时被问到这个问题，可能会觉得有点奇怪，但是在英美国家的比较高级的餐厅，服务员看到你有孩子，就会问这个问题，免费提供这个服务，相当于国内的“要一份鸡蛋羹吗”......

Mom: Yes, please, that would be great.

妈妈：嗯嗯，那太好了。

Staff: Here you go, 2 menus, a child's menu and some crayons and a coloring page.

服务员：给您，2份菜单，一份儿童菜单，还有一些蜡笔和一张涂色纸。

注意，color是涂颜色的意思，所以，coloring page可不是彩纸，而是印有图案轮廓的，供小朋友们涂色的纸。

Mom: Thank you.

妈妈：谢谢。

Could I also get some hot water to make a bottle for my baby?

另外，我可以要一些热水给宝宝冲奶粉吗？

注：Make a bottle是冲奶粉的意思，因为冲奶粉一定会用到bottle-奶瓶。

Staff: No problem, can I get you some drinks to start with?

服务员：没问题，我先给您上点儿饮料？

Mom: Yes, can we have some water and an an apple juice for my daughter?

妈妈：嗯，我们要点儿水，再给我女儿一杯苹果汁。

注：(1) 如果没有特别指明要bottled water-瓶装水，服务员会给你上tap water / table water，即免费的可饮用的自来水。
(2) Juice作可数名词时，表达“一份果汁”。

Staff: I will get your drinks

服务员：稍后给您上饮料，

and will take your food order when I come back.

然后回来为您点餐。

Mom: Sweetie, what would you like for lunch?

妈妈：宝宝，你中午想吃什么？

There is pasta with cheese or tomato sauce,

有意大利面，可以配奶酪或者番茄酱，

注：(1) Pasta是意大利面的统称，包括至少10种不同的面点。儿童菜单上的cheesy pasta多为cheese-奶酪和macaroni-通心粉结合的。

(2) Tomato sauce和ketchup都翻译成番茄酱，但是有区别，前者用于比较高端的餐饮，除了酱，里面还有西红柿块和一些香料，而且是新鲜制作的，用于意大利面等；后者就是酱。

sausage and mashed potatoes or fish and fries?

香肠，土豆泥，还是鱼和薯条？

Child: Cheesy pasta please!

宝宝：奶酪意大利面！

Staff: Hello, can I take your order now?

服务员：您好，现在可以为您点餐了吗？

Staff: Yes, each meal comes with a little bowl of cucumber and carrot sticks

服务员：有的，每个套餐都会搭配一碗黄瓜和胡萝卜条，

and some of the meals come with peas.

有的套餐搭配的是豌豆。

Mom: Great! She will have the cheesy pasta with peas, please.

妈妈：好！她要奶酪意大利面，配豌豆。

and my husband will have the beef burger.
