说到“开和关”，相信很多人都认为是open和close，但今天要告诉你是错的。英文表达中对于电子设备的“开关”，正确的表达是turn on和turn off，比如开灯、开电脑等。

02“open和close”指哪种开关？

如果你使用open/close the computer表达“开/关电脑”，这个表达只能是开/合上电脑的盖而已，不是真正意义的启动电脑。这种只是将原来的东西关上或者合上的东西打开而已。比如“开门、开窗，又或者是打开眼界这种（思维）”。所以当你说open the computer，别人认为你是要拆开电脑的主机修理电脑，会吓坏人的。

03“开支票”怎么表达？

“开支票”不能说open the check。这样说，可就又掉进中式英文的坑了，我们中文说"开支票"，但其实动作是拿出指支票本，"写支票"，所以正确的动词是 write，write a check.而“开支票账号”则可以使用 Open checking account。
