日常生活中，每个人总会有那么一两个秘密，口风严的人，心中的秘密自然不会随随便便说出来，然而，生活中总有那么几个人一不小心就把秘密说出来。

在英语里面，对于“泄露秘密”“爆料”都有很多特殊的说法，今天罐头菌就来介绍一下。

1.let the cat out of the bag

let the cat out of the bag，让“猫星人”溜出包，一般这个词组会特指表示人“不小心，无意”地把秘密“说溜了嘴”。

He let the cat out of the bag, and the surprise party wasn't a surprise after all.

他不小心说漏了嘴，让这个派对不再惊喜了。

2.spill the tea/beans

关于秘密，还有另一个说法在我们中文中经常会用到——“爆料”。在英文里面，“茶/豆子洒了”，就像秘密在黑暗中爆发出来一样的感觉，因此，在国外，“爆料”经常会用spill the tea/beans来表示。

“Does Phillip know about our plan?”

“Yes, someone must have spilled the beans.”

“菲利普已经知道我们的计划了？”

“是的，肯定是有人爆料了。”

3.give the game away

同样的，“泄露秘密”还有一个词组与game相关——give the game away。这里的game，其实我们就可以理解为“秘密”了，而give away本身也会有“泄露”的意思。

You're going to give the game away if you don't quit whispering about it!

假如你再不小声一点说话的话，那秘密就要被你泄露出去了！

4.divulge a secret

divulge——泄露，透漏。divulge a secret ，就是“泄露秘密”的一个直接的翻译。

He was charged with divulging state secrets.

他被控告泄露国家秘密。
