Low-budget carrier 9Air officially opens a new route today (July 13), providing daily service between Guangzhou and Xining in Northwest China's Qinghai province. It marks the first budget air route operated by low-cost airlines between the two cities.
The new flight will depart at 9:40 a.m. at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport and arrive at Xining Caojiapu International Airport (西宁曹家堡国际机场) at 2:55 p.m., with a stopover at Nanchang Changbei International Airport (南昌昌北国际机场). A Guangzhou-Xining flight of the low budget route will cost as low as 759 yuan, 68 percent off the single-way full-price air ticket.
A return flight from Xining to Guangzhou will depart on the same day at 3:45 p.m. and arrive at 8:55 p.m. — also with a stopover at Nanchang — costing a minimum of 539 yuan, about 77 percent off the full-price ticket.
9Air has also resumed international passenger flights from Guangzhou to Bangkok, Thailand. The airlines will operate two "Guangzhou-Bangkok" flights per week, on Thursday and Sunday, starting July 16.The announcement came as a result that no passengers on the "Guangzhou-Bangkok" route tested positive for the virus in nucleic acid tests for three consecutive weeks, meeting the condition of a "reward mechanism" under an international flights adjustment policy rolled out by the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) on June 4.
