Thousands are taking part in a third day of street protests, calling for the release of elected leader Aung San Suu Kyi and for democracy to be restored.
State TV has warned protesters that action will be taken if they threaten public safety or the "rule of law".
It comes a day after Myanmar saw its largest protest in more than a decade.

South Africa has put its roll-out of the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine on hold after a study showed "disappointing" results against its new Covid variant.
Scientists say the strain accounts for 90% of new Covid cases in South Africa.
The study, involving around 2,000 people, found the vaccine offered "minimal protection" against mild and moderate cases of Covid-19.
South Africa has received 1m doses of the AstraZeneca jab and was due to start vaccinating people next week.

At least 14 people are dead and 150 missing after a piece of a Himalayan glacier fell into a river and triggered a huge flood in northern India.
The floodwaters burst open a dam and a deluge of water poured through a valley in the state of Uttarakhand.
Most of the missing are believed to be workers from two hydro power plants in the area.
Hundreds of troops, paramilitaries and military helicopters have been sent to the region to help with rescue efforts.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has denied corruption charges in court for the first time as his trial resumes in Jerusalem.
Mr Netanyahu entered his plea at the hearing which had been previously postponed because of the pandemic.
He is the first serving Israeli prime minister to go on trial, which takes place just a month before elections.
Mr Netanyahu, 71, is accused of bribery, fraud and breach of trust in three separate cases.

The president of Haiti says an attempt to kill him and overthrow the government has been foiled, amid a dispute over when his term ends.
At least 23 people were arrested, including a top judge and a senior police officer, the authorities said.
President Jovenal Moïse insists his term in office ends in February 2022.
But opponents say it finished on Sunday. Protesters took to the streets of the capital Port-au-Prince and other towns over his refusal to step down.
