学位服 cap and gown
学位服（academic dress/ costume）一般称为cap /k?p/ and gown /ga?n/，即学位帽和学位袍。其实学位服还有个部分叫hood（兜帽，坎肩），就是披在背后的那个垂布。学位帽最常用的叫法是cap，又叫square academic cap，graduate cap。不过，“学位帽”还有个有趣的说法：“托泥板”，mortarboard /'m?:t?b?:d/。
毕业典礼 commencement/ graduation ceremony
英式英语里，毕业典礼一般叫graduation ceremony，毕业那天则是graduation day。而在美国，毕业典礼则通常被称作commencement ceremony，毕业那天除了叫graduation day，也可以叫commencement day。
