那么,问题来了
"看手机"的"看",
是see,look还是watch?
都不对!为什么?
首先我们来区分一下这几个“看”
SEE
See means to notice or become aware of (someone or something) by using your eyes.
See的意思是用眼睛注意到或意识到(某人或某物)。
For example:
I saw you waving at me.
我看见你朝我挥手。
I see a ship on the horizon.
我看见地平线上有一艘轮船。
Of note, to see can also mean to understand (e.g., I see what you mean).
注意，see也可以表示理解(比方说，我知道你说的是什么意思了。)
LOOK
The verb to look means to deliberately apply the ability to see. In other words, it means to make a conscious effort to see something. To look is usually followed by at or for.
动词“look”的意思是有意识地运用“see”的能力。换句话说，它的意思是付出努力或注意力的去看某物。一般后边跟at或者for。
For example:
Look at the beading on her wedding dress.
看她结婚礼服上的珠饰。
I am looking for my car keys.
我在找我的车钥匙。(需要用眼睛看着找)。
WATCH
Watch means to look at (someone or something) for an amount of time and pay attention to what is happening.
watch的意思是看(某人或某事)一段时间，注意正在发生的事情
For example:
The policemen watched their suspect for half an hour.
警察看(管)着他们的嫌疑犯半小时了。
I watch the news every morning before work.
我每天早晨上班前都会看新闻。
❖see更侧重于我们眼睛有没有看东西的能力，可不可以看到东西
❖look则是视线上的注目的“看”
❖watch区别更大些，可以理解为“观看”，需要看一段时间
但是你细想一下
我们说的“看”手机
真的就只是“看”着么?
“看”手机是以下几种情况
01. see the phone
=看到手机(本身)
比如
Have you seen my phone ?
你看到我的手机了吗?
02. look the phone
=把目光放到手机上,快看那个手机
(一般是说look at)
用来引起别人的注意
比如
Look at the phone! It has a foldable screen.
快看那个手机，居然是折叠屏的!
03. watch the phone
是错的!没有这种说法!
因为
watch其实表示看"有移动或变化的东西"
比如
watch the clock=看表
(表针是移动的)
watch TV=看电视
(电视里的画面是动态的)
那么“看手机”的正确表达是什么呢？
你可以说 check the phone ，表达下意识的查看手机,有没有新消息~
或者你也可以说，look through the phone，look through 意为查看，翻阅，look through the phone 就是翻看手机。
举个栗子~
Don't check / look through your phone at the dinner table.
别老在吃饭的时候看手机。
