相信很多人对于 touch 的记忆仍局限于 keep in touch (with sb) 的用法，意为“（与…）有（或进行、保持等）联系”，尤其用在写信或打电话中，然而 in touch 其实还有其他的用法，你知道吗？

在英语中，touch 作动词表示“触摸”时，不少人会把它与 feel 混起来，其实它们的侧重点不同；touch 指用手或身体的其他部位触碰他人或某物，强调的是动作，而 feel 指通过 touch 某物以了解情况，这是它们的一个主要区别，例如：

The paint is wet. Do not touch it.

油漆未干。不要碰它。

Feel the shark's skin. It is rougher than it .

摸摸鲨鱼的皮。它比看起来更粗糙。

当然，touch 还可以做名词，in touch 中的 touch 就是一个名词，然而它已经不是“物理上的触碰”了，而表示一种状态或情况。

我们知道，介词“三剑客”有 in，at 和 on，它们都可以用来表示状态，大同小异，如 at war，意为“处于战争”，on vacation，意为“度假”，且 in touch 中的 in 也表示状态或状况。

类似的用 in 表状态的还有短语 in love，意为“恋爱”，in good repair，意为“保养得不错”，等等。例如：

而作名词的 touch 意为“触碰”，那么 in touch 就是“处于触碰”的状态，因此可用来表示“联系”，常用在结构 be/keep/get in touch (with sb) 中，例如：

毕业后，我和高中的老朋友们试图保持联系，但大学一开学，我们就开始疏远了。

那么顺带学习一下失去联系 out of touch (with sb)，相当于 lose touch (with sb)，其中 out of 表示不在原状态，类似的还有 out of sight，意为“看不见”，例如：

I don't know if he lives there. We've been touch for some .

我不知道他是否还住在那里。我们已经失去联系一段时间了。

然而其实，in touch 还可以延申为其他的意思，此时常用于结构 in touch (with sth)，表示了解，通常指某领域或课题的情况，这个用法也是很多人比较少用的，例如：

It is important to keep in touch with the latest research.

及时掌握最新研究情况很重要。

对应的是 out of touch (with sth)，表示不了解或不懂得某课题或领域的情况，相当于 lose touch (with sth)，例如：

Unfortunately, the people making the decisions are out of touch with the real world.

令人遗憾的是，制订决策的人不了解实情。
