Fifteen primary school students in Shinan district, Qingdao, recently got a chance to go on a study tour to the Museum of the Former German Governor's House in Qingdao, which was hailed as "a great work of architectural art that integrates various Eastern and Western cultural concepts" by famed Chinese architect Liang Sicheng.

During the tour, an architectural expert taught the students about the evolution of people's homes, commonly seen load-bearing structures and diverse architectural structures in daily life.

The students then entered the museum to study the structure and measured its load-bearing walls to analyze its design concept.

By the end of the tour, the students built models of the museum with straws based on their own drawings.
