“改造未来——第八届上海多伦青年美术大展”7月31日在上海多伦现代美术馆展出。展览由上海多伦现代美术馆向社会公开征稿以及提名推荐的方式征集作品，最终由专家评委评选出了在立意、表达和价值取向上都与本次主题相符的共计18位/组艺术家的作品参展，作品形式涵盖绘画、装置、影像、行为表演等。

展览以“改造未来”为主题，关注当下人类所面临的共同处境，一面是虚拟现实、人工智能、生物基因科学的进步等一系列技术发展，让移居月球、人机接口、人类意识永生成为似乎可预见的未来——技术发展似乎永无止境，并不断破除人类局限；而另一面却是世界环境污染与气候变化、核辐射危机的继续扩散、全球许多局部地区冲突和危机的加剧……期待、未知、不安原本就紧紧伴随着我们；而一场新冠疫情的到来急剧深刻的改变了整个世界，让我们重新面对生命，面对生存，面对生活，并且思考这一切的意义。在后疫情的时代，我们将迎来怎样的未来？

艺术家、独立策展人、社区枢纽站创建人王南溟向欧洲艺术协会介绍：作为当代艺术的实验空间，多伦现代美术馆关注中国当代艺术的发展动向和最新思潮，是为当代艺术服务的专业化现代美术馆。这次青年展览的感觉很学术，青年艺术家介入不少社会问题，不单单是把艺术作品“放置”在美术馆空间，而是将艺术的种子“种植”在社会话题中，呈现关于生态、记忆、想象空间，通过艺术作品的思考和表达，重拾生命、生存的意义，重建对自我、对世界的认知。

多伦美术馆曾玉兰馆长认为，作为公共文化的重要平台，美术馆在当代社会文明的演进中扮演着重要的角色，而作为中国第一家关注现当代艺术的公立美术馆，上海多伦现代美术馆自 2004年就创立了“上海多伦青年美术大展”项目，至今已经连续举办了七届展览。历届上海多伦青年美术大展所展出的作品均展现了当代中国青年的文化思考深度，凸显了中国当代艺术的活力，推动中国当代艺术与国际文化艺术的交流。

曾玉兰介绍说，本次展览18 位\组入选艺术家的精彩创作，聚焦于艺术与科技、虚拟与现实、当下环境危机、全球化时代下个体的“身份”等具体问题，面对这些人类共有的处境，以当代艺术独有的方式展开了思考和讨论。入选作品既体现了馆方“原创性、学术性、国际性”的办馆理念，也展现了当代青年艺术家的独特创作视角，我们期待在本次展览中这些艺术家的视角所展现的对世界的观察、感知、理解、思考甚至想象，能触动每一个人的内心、情感，带来新的体验，超越现实，超越当下，引发我们每一个人对未来的思考和想象。

本次展览将展出至2022年8月31日。

Shape the Future - The 8th Shanghai Duolun Youth Art Exhibition will be held at Shanghai Duolun Museum of Modern Art from August 2 to August 31, 2022. The exhibition is organized by Shanghai Duolun Museum of Modern Art, and works were collected through open calls and nominations by the curator, and finally 18 artists/groups were selected by the expert jury to exhibit works that are consistent with the theme of this exhibition in terms of intention, expression and value orientation, covering painting, installation, sound, video and performance.

Themed as shaping the future, the exhibition focuses on the common situation facing mankind today. On one hand, a series of technological developments, such as VR, AI and biological genetic science, have made living on the moon, human-machine interface and immortality of human consciousness a foreseeable future; Technology seems to move on forever, breaking through human limitations. On the other hand, world environmental pollution, climate change, and nuclear radiation crisis are spreading , and conflicts and crises in many parts of the world are intensifying. Expectations, unknowns, and uneasiness are always with us. The arrival of COVID-19 has dramatically and profoundly changed the whole world, forcing us to face life, survival, existing and the meaning of all this. What kind of future are we embracing? The 8th Shanghai Duolun Youth Art Exhibition invites artists to focus on the present and look to the future. Through thinking and expression of art works, we will regain the meaning of life and survival in the post-epidemic era, rebuild our cognition of ourselves and the world, find the road to the future together, and transform the future with their thoughts today.

The exhibition will be on display until August 31, 2022.
