Anastrophe 的意思是“倒置法”，即把“主谓宾”或是“主系表”的结构变成“宾谓主”或“表系主”，从句法上说，这种手法是一种“倒装”，使用它可以造成一种强化和渲染的效果（This reversed order creates a dramatic impact and lends weight to the description offered by the adjective.）这种手法在演说和诗句中常常出现。

我们来看下面的例句：

“Excited, the children were” – 这个句子的原有顺序应该是The children were excited. 把excited提前，强调了这个激动和兴奋。

“In the forest dark and deep, I wandered lonely as a sheep” – 这一句，把dark and deep放在前面，突出了在荒漠中的孤独感。

“The greatest teacher, failure is.”—这一句弱化了failure本身，而重点强调“最好的老师”，而正常顺序Failure is the greatest teacher. 就显得太平淡了。

“Blessed are those who mourn”---这一句强化了“有福了”，而弱化了“那些悲伤的人”。
