签署战略合作框架协议

今天（5月23日）上午，宁波诺丁汉大学与甬江实验室战略合作框架协议签约仪式在甬江实验室举行。未来五年，双方将在人才培养、资源共享、科研合作、成果转化等方面开展全方位、多层次的战略合作。

宁波诺丁汉大学是中国第一所引进世界一流大学优质教学资源、具有独立法人资格和独立校园的中外合作大学，自2004年建立起就根植宁波，将自身发展融入宁波的发展，致力于引进国际优质科技创新资源，服务于国家发展战略和宁波产业的发展。甬江实验室是省市设立的重大科技创新平台，以“前瞻创新，从0到1，厚植产业，造福社会”为宗旨，面向新材料及相关领域，开展前沿科学研究，突破关键核心技术，贯通创新全链条，致力于成为具有全球影响力的研究机构，以此拓展人类认知边界，应对全球挑战，为人类谋求福祉。

此次双方强强联手，将充分发挥双方在人才和科研资源方面的各自优势，整合资源，以平台为抓手，通过联合组建科研团队、共同承担科研项目、共建科技平台，联合承办重大学术会议、协同开展重大科技任务攻关，探索高等教育国际化和科技创新融合发展的新机制，同时联合培养具有国际视野的高水平博士人才，助推宁诺成为一所高水平、创新型、国际化的研究型大学，助力甬江实验室建设成为世界级新材料创新策源地，为宁波现代化滨海大都市建设贡献智慧和力量。

签约仪式现场，市委常委、常务副市长华伟，市委组织部副部长、市委人才办常务副主任张瑞丽，市教育局党委委员、副局长王飞，市科技局党组成员、副局长陈善福，宁波诺丁汉大学和甬江实验室的主要领导及专家学者出席见证。

市委常委、常务副市长华伟代表市政府，对甬江实验室与宁波诺丁汉大学的合作，表示热烈的祝贺。他认为双方合作推进教育、人才、科技三位一体协同发展，是一次意义重大的探索。他表示，宁波市政府将一如既往支持并且为双方的合作创造条件。同时，也希望双方进一步谋深谋实合作载体、合作平台，吸引带动更多企业参与进来，共同推动产学研联动，早日产出标志性合作成果。

宁波诺丁汉大学执行校长尼克·迈尔斯教授致辞并指出：“宁波诺丁汉大学扎根宁波19年，传承了英国诺丁汉大学追求卓越创新的精神，并一直致力于提供高水平的教育和科研，以应对这个时代的挑战。目前，宁诺正在成为一个快速发展的，集卓越研究、创新和知识交流为一体的国际化平台。今天，我们很荣幸能与甬江实验室共同推进工作，互相成就。我相信，我们有着相同的愿景和奉献精神，共同为推动宁波市、浙江省乃至全国的科研发展而努力。”

UNNC signs MoU with Yongjiang Laboratory to carry out strategic cooperation

23 May: The University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC) signs a Memorandum of Understanding with Yongjiang Laboratory to carry out all-round and multi-level strategic cooperation in talent training, resource sharing, scientific research cooperation and transformation of achievements in the next five years.

UNNC is the first Sino-foreign university in China that has introduced premium teaching resources of a world class university and has an independent legal personality as well as an independent campus. UNNC has been rooted in Ningbo since its establishment in 2004, integrating its own development into the development of Ningbo, and is committed to introducing international science and technology innovative resources and serving the national development strategy and the development of Ningbo industries.

The Yongjiang Laboratory is a major science and technology innovation platform set up by Zhejiang province and Ningbo city, it has the aim of "powering innovation to build a better world”. Focusing on new materials and related areas, the Yongjiang Lab is committed to delivering cutting-edge basic research, developing world-changing technologies, and creating a sustainable innovation ecosystem. Aimed at becoming one of the most influential research institutes in the world, the Yongjiang Lab pushes the boundaries of knowledge and contributes to society.

As part of their ongoing cooperation, the two parties will make full use of their respective advantages in terms of talents and scientific research resources, integrate their resources, use the platform as a carrier, and cooperate closely in research by jointly forming scientific research teams, undertaking scientific research projects, building scientific and technological platforms, collaborating on major scientific and technological tasks, and jointly hosting major academic conferences. The two sides will join hands in exploring a new mechanism to integrate the internationalisation of higher education and the innovation of science and technology and establishing a Doctoral Training Partnership in order to cultivate world-class PhD talents with an international perspective, allowing UNNC to transform into a high-level, innovative and international teaching and research university, empowering Yongjiang Lab to become a world-class new materials innovation source, and contributing to the development of Ningbo into a modern coastal metropolis.

Wei Hua, a Member of CPC Standing Committee and Executive Vice Mayor of Ningbo, and other government officials, as well as leaders and scholars of UNNC and Yongjiang Lab attended the signing ceremony.

Mr Hua, on behalf of the municipal government, extended warm congratulations on the cooperation. He believed that it is an important pilot for Yongjiang Lab and UNNC to collaborate strategically to promote the coordinative development of education, talent, and science and technology. He stated that the Ningbo government will continuously provide support and opportunities for future collaboration between the two organisations. Meanwhile, he hoped that the parties would move into the next phase in order to create further concrete projects and plans, bring more enterprises into the collaboration, and produce significant collaborative achievements.

Professor Nick Miles OBE, UNNC Provost, pointed out in his speech that having been established and rooted in Ningbo for 19 years, UNNC shares the University of Nottingham’s passion for excellence with impact, and has always been committed to providing high-quality education and research that addresses the challenges of the time. “UNNC is a fast-growing hub for excellence in research, innovation, and knowledge exchange. Today, we are proud to join forces with Yongjiang Laboratory to advance our efforts. I believe that we share the same vision and dedication to advancing science and technology in the city of Ningbo and beyond.”

“The MoU between Y-lab and UNNC is a win-win cooperation strategy,” said Ping Cui, Director of the Yongjiang Lab. “Our collaboration will benchmark that of the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory and University of California and make the best use of our advantages in talent and research, creating a new model of the deep integration of science and education in China.”
