但哪怕是最亲近、最信任的人，也不是“自己”。冯雨佳的选择，是“走出自己的路，做和别人不一样的选择，迎接更多的不确定性”。

在高校毕业生就业形势并不乐观的当下，她延期前往常青藤名校康奈尔大学读研的决定，成为了一项“非典型”选择，是一趟未知的旅途。

但决心“跳出舒适圈”的她，满怀憧憬、乐在其中。如今的她，即将成为全球四大会计师事务所之一普华永道的一员。

特别幸运，拥有选择的权利

宁波素以开放闻名，在这片土地扎根生长的宁波诺丁汉大学，也把开放与自由视作立身之本、动力之源。

拥有来自全球70多个国家和地区的近万名师生，与40个国家和地区的近150所海外一流院校建立合作关系，全面应用小班化、全英文和互动式的教学，学校外籍教师占比超过60%……

在这里，她学会了“多元发展”。从羽毛球校队主力到学生职业发展协会副部长，从全运会志愿者到中国证券从业资格证的持有者，世俗眼中的“象牙塔”没有让冯雨佳自缚手脚，反而帮助她锻炼了能力、丰满了人格。

在这里，她学会了“坚定追梦”。身边的同窗和师长会时常给予她中肯有效的建议；来自各行各业的专家学者会在学校组织的讲座上传授经验；校内的就业指导部门也时刻关注着学生的成长轨迹，给予她职业生涯以方向引导，提供各种类型的实习机会。

宁诺的开放和包容，给予学生们更多的发展空间。它让我意识到，人生并非笔直向前的单一轨道，而是一片自由的旷野。这不是放荡不拘的自由，而是精神世界的自我主宰。”冯雨佳说，“我觉得自己特别幸运，拥有选择的权利。”

在这座通达世界、包罗万象的人才孵化园里，冯雨佳坚定地、勇敢地种下了独属于她的小小梦想，正在开放雨露的浇灌下抽枝发芽。

不害怕挑战未知

选择毕业后延期出国，毅然投身就业浪潮，这恐怕是极少人愿意做的大胆尝试。

成为第一个“吃螃蟹的人”，需要百炼成钢的专业能力，更需要无惧无畏的战斗勇气。怎样迈出这一步、走好这一步，是宁诺给予冯雨佳最大的财富。

面对“按部就班当好学生”和“进入普华永道就职”的选择时，她并非没有犹豫。

显然，继续保持学生的状态，前往常青藤联盟的名校读书，无疑是一条最平顺、最通畅的道路，与年幼时“一定要出国深造”的梦想相契。

与此同时，冯雨佳遭遇的面试对手，或是顶尖国内高校的本科生，或是留学归来的研究生，俨然是“千军万马过独木桥”的严苛竞争场景。

所幸，这些困难没有干扰她的判断、阻拦她的脚步。

在宁诺求学的经历，早已给予她闯关“HARD模式”的信心。“上课的时候，老师经常鼓励我们多思考、多提问题，我们也常常需要小组协作完成任务。这些历练让我变得更加敢于表达自我了，在和牛校毕业的学长学姐一起面试时也能非常自信。”跨文化沟通、思辨思维和领导能力，成为冯雨佳脱颖而出的坚实底气。

也正因如此，面对周遭的担忧和疑问时，她可以从容自信地作答，“这样的决定很勇敢，但我愿意花时间挑战未知。”

As her graduation certificate from the University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC) found a place on her wall, and letters of acceptance from renowned universities such as Cornell, Edinburgh, and Manchester arrived, Yujia Feng found herself at a crossroads. A crossroads of contemplating between starting a career or pursuing further education. More specifically, she would either further her studies abroad or embark on an entrepreneurial journey to explore employment opportunities. Yujia decided to forge her own path and embrace heightened uncertainties.

Presently, she stands on the threshold of joining PwC, one of the four largest accounting firms in the world. Given the somewhat bleak employment outlook for recent graduates, the decision to delay studying abroad for a year represents an "unorthodox" choice, a voyage into the unknown. Yet, fueled by her firm determination to venture out of her comfort zone, Yujia exudes optimism and excitement.

UNNC, with nearly ten thousand students and staff from more than 70 countries and regions worldwide, has cultivated cooperative relationships with over 140 top-tier colleges and universities in over 40 countries and regions. UNNC delivers an English-language, interactive, small-class teaching approach, with over 60% of its faculty from abroad. This, and the university's open-minded and liberal culture provided a vast platform for Yujia, who arrived in Ningbo with dreams and ambitions, to train, grow and now reflect on her work.

Here, she learnt to boldly envision her goals. Numerous UNNC alumni have achieved great accomplishments in the academic and social fields, inspiring her to develop the confidence required to compete with the best from top universities and corporations.

At UNNC, she learnt to "develop diversely". From being a volunteer for the All-China Games, to passing the qualification exam for Chinese securities practitioners, the university has polished her abilities and built on her personality.

At UNNC, she learnt the art of relentlessly chasing her dreams. Peers and tutors provided practical and effective advice, visiting experts and scholars shared experience in lectures, and the university's career guidance department provided support for growth, giving students career direction and internship opportunities.

"UNNC's openness and inclusiveness offer students an array of developmental opportunities. It made me realise that life isn't just a single straightforward trajectory but a vast and free wilderness," Yujia said. "I feel particularly fortunate to have had the privilege of choice."

Opting to postpone studying abroad for a year and being a part of the employment wave after graduation is a bold move that few dare to take. Undoubtedly, maintaining her status as a student and attending university would have been the smoothest and most straightforward path, perfectly in sync with her dreams of studying abroad. Further, the job interviews Feng Yujia faced involved harsh competition among graduates from top domestic universities and returnees from foreign postgraduate programmes. It was a challenging environment. Fortunately, these hurdles neither interfered with her judgment nor halted her progress.

Her experience at UNNC has given her the confidence to overcome various barriers. Cross-cultural communication, critical thinking, and leadership skills have become her solid foundation making Yujia stand out amongst competition.

"Plentiful opportunities, a high degree of freedom, and great inclusiveness" are UNNC's values, said Yujia. It is within such an environment that Yujia, along with her like-minded peers, embraced unexpected opportunities with great passion. Gradually, they evolved from naive and inexperienced “blank sheets” into mature individuals with independent personalities, boldly pursuing a boundless life of endless possibilities.
