石狮甜果是闽南侨乡石狮镇的传统名点,素以色泽纯正,质地软嫩,清甜可口,气味芬芳而闻名。

Shishi Sweet Treats are a traditional delicacy from Shishi Town, a hometown of overseas Chinese in southern Fujian. They are renowned for their pure color, soft and tender texture, delightful sweetness, and fragrant aroma.

石狮甜果原叫塘头甜果。相传宋代时,石狮附近的塘头村有一名书生,经十年寒窗,终于金榜题名。得官之日,大宴宾客,村中一厨师做了一盘甜果,清甜爽口,别有风味,后传入民间,称塘头甜果。

Originally, Shishi Sweet Treats were called "Tangtou Sweet Treats". According to legend, during the Song Dynasty, a scholar from Tangtou Village near Shishi dedicated ten years to his studies and finally achieved success in the imperial examination. On the day of his appointment, a grand feast was held, and a chef prepared a plate of sweet treats that were both sweet and refreshing, with a unique flavor. This dish later became popular among the locals and was called "Tangtou Sweet Treats".

石狮甜果是以优质糯米、白砂糖、蜜冬瓜条、金桔等为原料精制而成。石狮甜果一般可贮存半月左右,若冬天埋入糖中,夏季浸入油内,可保存四五个月而不变质。如久存变硬,一经蒸制,柔软如初,风味不变。

Shishi Sweet Treats are made from high-quality glutinous rice, white sugar, preserved winter melon strips, kumquats, and other ingredients. Typically, Shishi Sweet Treats can be stored for about half a month. However, if buried in sugar during winter and soaked in oil during summer, they can be preserved for four to five months without spoiling. If they become hard after extended storage, steaming will restore their original softness and flavor.
