The sun is a giant flower,

and the flowers are like little suns.

Little suns of all different colors.

太阳是一朵巨大的花，

花儿就像小太阳。

各种颜色的小太阳。

But if I had to pick one color,

I'd say summer is green.

Green on green on green.

Summer is a green song.

但如果让我选一个颜色，

我会说夏天是绿色的。

绿色，不同深度的绿色。

夏天是一首绿色的歌。

A song of leaves

and trees

and weeds

and grass, lots of grass.

一首关于树叶、 大树，

野草和小草的歌，

还有很多很多的草。

If there is tall grass in a field

and the wind blows,

it sounds like music.

如果田野里有高高的草，

风吹动着，

它们听起来就像音乐一样。

So do the air conditioners

and the fans

and the sprinklers

and the lawn mowers.

空调、风扇、

洒水器和割草机也是如此，

像音乐一样响动。

Most of the time,

birds are part of the song

in the air,

of the sky

and sometimes

rain and thunder are, too.

大多数时候，

鸟儿的叫声

也是天空这首歌的一部分，

有时，

雨和雷也是。

If you lie in the grass,

and you’re quiet and patient and lucky,

you might hear a bug song

whirring and buzzing and humming.

如果你躺在草地上，

安静、耐心、并很幸运的话，

你可能会听到虫鸣，

嗡嗡作响。

Are there bees?

Yes.

grasshoppers?

Yes.

Crickets?

Yes.

Dragonflies?

Yes.

And silent butterflies, too.

有蜜蜂吗？是的。

蟋蟀？是的。

蜻蜓？是的。

还有安静舞动的蝴蝶。

And at night are the fireflies?

Sometimes.

There's one!

And another one!

And another one!

And another one!

They're singing to each other

without a sound.

那晚上出没的萤火虫呢？

有时候，

会出现一个！

接着又出现一个！

一个接着一个！

它们在无声无息地互相唱歌。

When there is fog early in the morning,

summer is a gray song.

When you go to the beach or a lake,

Summer is a blue song.

And when the sky is blue, too.

清晨有雾的时候，

夏天就变成了一首灰色的歌。

当你去海滩或湖边时，

夏天又是一首蓝色的歌。

当天空也是蓝色的时候，

歌也是蓝色的。

But the green song is still there.

但是绿色的歌声仍然在。

If you slow down and think about it,

you can feel the summer song.

It's warm

and then hot

and then hotter.

如果你慢下来静静地想一想，

就能感受到这首夏日之歌。

很暖和，

然后又变得热起来，

又热起来。

In the shade it can be cool,

or when you play with the hose.

当你在阴凉处时，

就可以很凉快，

当你玩水管的时候也是如此。

But when the days become shorter

and the nights come earlier,

the song changes.

Summer gets bored

and wants to try something new,

something different.

The song is turning

turning

turning...

但当白天变短、

黑夜变早时，

歌曲就变了，

夏天觉得无聊，

想尝试一些新事物，

一些不同的东西。

这首歌就开始转啊转啊…

Its turning into Fall.

于是就进入了秋天。
