Catherine Zhang (张旸), has always been a very thoughtful and hardworking student. She not only possesses excellent academic abilities, but also demonstrates outstanding creativity and scientific thinking. In this highly competitive application season, Catherine received 7 university admission offers based on her outstanding performance, including the University of Sydney, University of California-Davis, University of California-Irvine, and others. These admission letters not only affirm her past efforts, but also provide her with broad choices for her future academic career.

为什么选择UCD

为什么Catherine同学最终选择了加州大学戴维斯分校（UCD）？这是因为UCD的生物专业在全球享有盛誉。与其他学校相比，UCD提供的录取专业更符合Catherine未来读牙医学院的课程学分要求。在UCD，Catherine准备就读的是生物化学（Biochemistry）专业。

Why did Catherine ultimately choose the University of California-Davis (UCD)? This is because UCD's biology program enjoys a high reputation worldwide. Compared to other schools, UCD offers admission majors that better meet Catherine's credit requirements for future dental school courses. At UCD, Catherine is preparing to study Biochemistry.

对于LWS美高，Catherine有很多想说的话，她说的最多的一句话是，非常感谢LWS美高的栽培，表示在这里度过的几年非常充实。

Catherine has a lot to say about LWS, and the most she says is, 'Thank you very much for nurturing me LWS!” She expressed that her years here have been very fulfilling.

最大的成长与收获

回顾自己的成长，Catherine认为自己最大的收获是认识了几位很要好的朋友，这些朋友在她人生中起到了非常重要的角色。此外，AP课程也能够帮助她更好地应对大学课程。

Looking back on her own growth, Catherine believes that her biggest gain was meeting several very good friends who played very important roles in her life. In addition, AP courses can also help her better cope with university courses.

差不多在11年级的时候，Catherine同学确定了心仪的专业。在小学和初中时期，她只是想要探索自己对哪些方面更感兴趣，那时候还没有特别具体的职业规划，但她希望能够全面地探索各个领域。

Around 11th grade, Catherine confirmed her desired major. In elementary and junior high school, she just wanted to explore which areas she was more interested in. At that time, there were no specific career plans, but she hoped to explore various fields comprehensively.

在11年级升12年级的暑假，Catherine参加了一个与统计相关的科研项目，其中涉及到一些微积分的知识。最后，她和朋友一起发表了一篇论文，并在杂志上刊登出来。

During the summer break from 11th grade to 12th grade, Catherine participated in a research project related to statistics, which involved some knowledge of calculus. Finally, she published a paper with her friends and it was published in a journal.

勇往直前 不断超越

作为一名积极向上的学生，Catherine同学在LWS美高的学习活动中展现出了出色的学习能力和积极的学习态度。

As a positive and proactive student, Catherine has demonstrated excellent learning abilities and a proactive attitude during the learning activities at LWS.

Catherine also pays attention to exercising and actively participates in various sports activities. Badminton is a popular sport at LWS, and she particularly enjoys the badminton classes at LWS. Every class is filled with enthusiasm and vitality. In badminton class, she is not only able to hit the ball accurately, but also able to move and adjust her position flexibly. In LWS's classroom, she always listens attentively, not just passively receiving knowledge, but actively thinking and asking questions. She is good at identifying the key and difficult points in the teacher's explanation, and timely raising questions to interact with the teacher. This positive learning attitude not only left a deep impression on the teachers, but also stimulated the enthusiasm of other students for learning.

在求学过程中，Catherine的一位朋友在她最艰难的时候给予了她很多支持，她非常高兴能够遇见这位朋友。对于这位朋友，Catherine充满了敬意和崇拜。
