瓷器一直被称为“国粹”，是我们汉民族的专长，英语用“china”来指瓷器，与“中国”的英文称呼“China”发音是一样的。瓷器制作起源于我国公元前16世纪的商朝，在宋元时期精美绝伦的瓷器出口到了西方，其中大多来自我国的著名瓷都昌南，后来逐渐就被欧美人读成了“China”。

People use "China" to refer to porcelain, which has the same pronunciation as the English name "China". Porcelain production originated in the Shang Dynasty in the 16th century BC. In the Song and Yuan Dynasties, exquisite porcelain was exported to the West, most of which came from Changnan, the famous porcelain capital of China. Later, it was gradually read "China" by Europeans and Americans.

商周、唐、宋元、明清不同时期的瓷器都有不同的特点。很多精美的瓷器被世界各地的人们广为喜爱并收藏，其中也有很多绝世珍宝惨遭掠夺，至今仍在国外。瓷器主要经过调和瓷泥、拉胚造型、上釉彩、高温（通常是1300℃左右）烧制的步骤制作而成。现如今花瓶、碗碟、水杯等日用器具无所不在。

Porcelain have different characteristics in Shang and Zhou dynasties, Tang Dynasties, Song and Yuan Dynasties, Ming and Qing dynasties.Many exquisite porcelain is widely loved and collected by people around the world, among which there are many rare treasures have been plundered and stolen abroad. Porcelain is mainly made by blending porcelain mud, drawing embryo modeling, glazing, and firing at high temperature (usually about 1300 °C). Nowadays vases, bowls, cups and other household utensils are everywhere.

我们来学习陶艺拉胚，亲手制作一个陶瓷制品吧！选用陶艺泥，放到陶艺机转盘上，手指浸水，随着转盘的转动，上下反复多次拉高、按下泥巴，将泥巴软硬度调和成内外一致，再食指竖直向下缓慢开孔，同时慢慢向外拉开。随着转盘的转动可以拉出造型不同的素胚。等着晾干后就可以送到窑炉烧制了。

With the rotation of the turntable we can pull out different shapes of the embryo.When it is dry ,we then send it to the kiln for firing.
