WhenOliviamoved into her new apartment, the previous tenant had left behindonly one thing—alarge antique mirrorhanging in the bedroom.

She thought about taking it down, but it wastoo heavy, and after a while, she decided to ignore it.
The first night, she noticedsomething strange.
When she turned off the lights and lay in bed, she had theunshakable feelingthat she wasn’t alone.
She told herself it was just nerves, the unfamiliarity of a new place. But just before she fell asleep, she could haveswornshe heard a whisper.
"Watch."
Oliviasat up abruptly, heart pounding. She stared at the mirror, its surface reflecting only the faint glow of the streetlights outside.
Nothing was there.
The next night, the feelinggot worse.
She woke up in the middle of the night, her throatdry, her mind hazy. Her eyes flickered toward the mirror—and herbreath caught in her throat.
Her reflection wasstanding up.
But Olivia was still in bed.
Shefroze, unable to move, unable to look away. Her reflection juststood there, watching her with wide, unblinking eyes.
Then, slowly, itsmiled.
A slow, unnatural stretch of lips, too wide for a human face.
Oliviascreamed, fumbling for the lamp. The moment the light flickered on, her reflection was normal again—just her ownterrifiedface staring back.
She barely slept the rest of the night.
The next morning, she covered the mirror with ablanket.
But at3:00 AM, she woke up to asoft rustling.
The blanket hadfallen to the floor.
The mirror wasuncovered.
And her reflection wascloser.

毯子掉到了地上。
镜子被掀开了。
