According to data from Ministry of Civil Affairs of the People's Republic of China, up to the end of 2024, China’s population aged 60 and above has reached 310 million. The manager of the Yunye Tingyu Homestay in Zhejiang Province, told reporters that in the past two months, Chinese senior tourists accounted for 60% of their total guests. They also tend to choose off-peak times for their trips. A transformation in tourism consumption centered around “in-depth experiences and quality priority” among the “new silver-haired generation” is quietly taking place.
