7月1日，美国政府在佛罗里达州新建的移民拘留设施“鳄鱼恶魔岛”正式启用。美国总统特朗普当天专程前去“剪彩”，以宣传其政府对非法移民的“严打”政策。这所移民拘留设施引发舆论强烈批评。
US President Donald Trump on Tuesday toured the site of a new immigration detention center in South Florida that state officials are calling "Alligator Alcatraz".
“鳄鱼恶魔岛”今起启用
这座移民拘留设施坐落于佛罗里达大沼泽地，以鳄鱼和蟒蛇等爬行动物环伺而“闻名”。
7月1日出行前，特朗普在华盛顿接受媒体记者采访时，还就“越狱”话题开起了玩笑：“如果他们越狱了，得知道怎么从鳄鱼口中逃跑。如何逃跑呢？别跑直线，得像这么跑。你猜怎么着？逃跑成功几率能高个1%左右。”
The controversial detention facility is at the Dade-Collier Training and Transition Airport in the Florida Everglades, which has its own runway in an environment known for its treacherous terrain and wildlife.
Before arriving, Trump even joked of migrants being held there, "We're going to teach them how to run away from an alligator if they escape prison."
"Don't run in a straight line. Run like this," Trump said, as he moved his hand in a zigzag motion. "And you know what? Your chances go up about 1 percent."
“鳄鱼恶魔岛”有5000个床位，所用到的铁丝网长度达8500米，装有200多个监控摄像头，并配备了400多名安保人员。
从美国媒体拍摄的视频中可以看到，摆放密集的上下铺床位都被罩在铁丝网里面。据美国官员估算，这座移民拘留设施每年的运转经费高达4.5亿美元。
The facility will have up to several thousand beds to house, process and deport individuals who were in the country illegally. Florida officials say the site will have at least 200 security cameras, at least 28,000 feet of barbed wire, 400-plus security personnel, and 24/7 air conditioning.

此前一天，白宫新闻秘书莱维特在介绍这座移民拘留设施时表示，其选址荒僻、危险动物环绕，且只有一条路通向外界，意在震慑企图逃跑的人。唯一的出路就是一张被遣返的单程机票。
特朗普说：“这里被称为‘鳄鱼恶魔岛’非常贴切。我往外面看了看，我可一点都不想出去走走。很快这里就会关押一些最具威胁性的移民。”
"Pretty soon, this facility will handle the most menacing migrants, some of the most vicious people on the planet," Trump said of the Florida site known as "Alligator Alcatraz".
The president said the moniker is "very appropriate because I looked outside and that's not a place I want to go hiking anytime soon."
佛罗里达州总检察长詹姆斯·乌特迈尔称第一批移民定于周三晚上抵达。美国国土安全部部长诺姆则表示，移民可以自愿离开美国，以避免最终被送往此类拘留中心。
The first group of immigrants were scheduled to arrive Wednesday night at a new detention center, said Florida Republican Attorney General James Uthmeier.
Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, who was also on the tour, said immigrants arriving to the site could still opt to "self-deport" and board flights to their home countries rather than being held in it.

“鳄鱼恶魔岛”自宣布建立以来，便招致广泛批评。在7月1日移民拘留设施启用当天，佛罗里达州大量民众举行抗议活动，批评美国政府此举不人道。
抗议者理查德直言：“建集中营是错的，不经过正当程序就把人关起来是错的。”
抗议者科斯纳表示，许多社区成员“被从家里、从街上绑架，然后被关到这里。”
“第一，他们怎么能在飓风季把5000人关在佛罗里达州的沼泽里？这是不人道的，会死人的。第二，从财政上来讲太不负责任了。政府效率部赶紧来查一查，每年花4.5亿美元为了什么？这根本毫无意义，太令人生气了。”另一位抗议者塔尼娅激动地说。
佛罗里达州移民联盟的发言人托马斯·肯尼迪也表示担忧：“在佛罗里达州的夏天，还是飓风季，在大沼泽地的沼泽中央，一堆没有充足基础设施、没有自来水的帐篷里关押移民，这实在是太可怕了。”
"There's no adequate running water or plumbing facilities. Uthmeier is out there saying we don't need to build brick and mortar because we'll just throw some tents up in the middle of the swamp, in July, in hurricane season, with the heat, no proper infrastructure and the mosquitoes," said Thomas Kennedy, spokesperson for the Florida Immigrant Coalition.
"It's designed to enact suffering."
该移民拘留设施也遭到了当地原住民的反对。米科苏基印第安部落谴责政府在国家保护区将其祖先的土地用于拘留，并指出这与19世纪大规模逮捕和强制驱逐美洲原住民的情况相似。

"Donald Trump, his administration, and his enablers have made one thing brutally clear: they intend to use the power of government to kidnap, brutalize, starve, and harm every single immigrant they can," said Democratic Congressman Maxwell Frost.
美国国土安全部的官方社交账号甚至发了一张图片，一群鳄鱼头戴着“移民与海关执法局”棒球帽，在高墙电网外面虎视眈眈。
下面有网友留言说：“我们终于越界了。好像这个移民拘留设施在文明社会还不算耻辱似的，我们还允许一个联邦机构拿人命开玩笑。不论你认为这些移民在美国是合法的还是非法的——我们谈论的是人类同胞的生命啊。”
还有人说，“现在是时候停止抓捕无证移民、别再盯着什么非法移民的犯罪问题了。事实是，并不是无证移民抢走了美国人的工作，而是他们填补了美国人都不愿意去做的工作。想想怎么做正确的事吧。”
"It is time to stop going after undocumented workers and focus on the criminal element of illegal immigrates. Truth is the undocumented workers are not taking jobs away from Americans, they are filling jobs Americans refuse to even apply for. Think about how to do the right thing."
