2019年初，江西省宜春市万载县王某某在外地打工认识一名福建人（姓名不详），知道他能收码购买六合彩并进行返利，便加了微信。2023年1月至7月期间，被告人王某某通过微信将号码和赌资发给这名福建人，开始为同村以及附近村子二十余人“写码”（代为购买地下六合彩）下注购买六合彩，并发展了欧某某、林某某为下线“写码”，从中赚取返利，获利2万余元。截至案发，共有60余名村民在王某某等人处下注购买六合彩进行赌博，涉及赌博资金50余万元。

被告人王某某等人以营利为目的，通过设立微信群组“代买六合彩”的方式组织多人进行赌博，其行为触犯了《中华人民共和国刑法》第三百零三条规定，应当以开设赌场罪追究刑事责任。王某某等3人最终被法院判处有期徒刑七个月至一年六个月不等。

开设赌场的，处五年以下有期徒刑、拘役或者管制，并处罚金；情节严重的，处五年以上十年以下有期徒刑，并处罚金。

组织中华人民共和国公民参与国（境）外赌博，数额巨大或者有其他严重情节的，依照前款的规定处罚。

“地下六合彩”是利用香港六合彩开奖号码作为中奖依据，让参赌人参与“买码”对赌的一种非法私彩，即以香港地区的六合彩号码为名头，实际上是一种虚假、非法的私人坐庄的赌博活动，参赌者十赌九输。“地下六合彩”的“高赔率”让参赌人员深陷其中无法自拔，且该类赌博隐蔽性强，资金流转迅速，赌资数额巨大，社会危害突出。
