小羊跟母羊亲得很。有回我看见一只小羊羔子，凑到母羊身边，用尾巴轻轻扫母羊的腿，母羊就低下头，用舌头舔小羊的脑袋。外婆说：“这是小羊在撒娇呢，尾巴扫一下，就是告诉妈妈‘我饿了’‘我想你了’。”还有回，两只小羊打架，赢的那只把尾巴翘得老高，像个小旗子，输的那只就把尾巴夹起来，灰溜溜地跑了。原来，小羊的尾巴还是“情绪表”，翘起来是开心，夹起来是害怕，扫一下是撒娇，比咱们说话还管用。

4. 跑跳时的“平衡杆”：防止摔得四脚朝天

小羊爱跑爱跳，尤其是春天，地里的草刚冒芽，小羊就蹦着跳着去吃。有回我看见一只小羊跳土堆，前腿刚上去，后腿滑了一下，多亏尾巴晃了晃，才没摔着。外婆说：“那尾巴跟船的舵似的，跑跳的时候帮着保持平衡，不然早摔得四脚朝天了。”你看那只小羊，跳的时候尾巴翘得老高，像个小尾巴旗，落地的时候尾巴又晃了晃，稳稳地站在地上。可不是嘛，要是没有尾巴，小羊跑起来肯定像个没头的苍蝇，东倒西歪的。

现在想想，小羊的尾巴可真不简单。它不像牛角那样显眼，也不像羊毛那样能做衣服，可它是小羊的“蚊拍”“粮袋”“信号旗”“平衡杆”，缺了哪一样都不行。就像咱们身边的小物件，比如奶奶的老花镜、妈妈的围裙，看着普通，缺了可真不行。大自然可真聪明，给每只小动物都配了刚好需要的“工具”，连小羊的尾巴都没落下。下次再看见小羊甩尾巴，可别觉得它在玩儿，那是它在好好过日子呢。
