同日，故宫博物院官网发布消息：

Tiananmen Square issued a notice on Sunday announcing its temporary closure from Sept 1 to 3 to ensure the smooth and safe conduct of the Victory Day military parade on Sept 3. Operations are expected to resume on Sept 4.

The parade is part of a grand gathering marking the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression (1931-1945) and the World Anti-Fascist War.

On the same day, the Palace Museum's official website released a statement indicating that, in coordination with the Tiananmen Square event arrangements, the museum will be temporarily closed from Aug 31 to Sept 4 and will reopen to the public on Sept 5.
