由陆军统帅安·德·蒙莫朗西公爵在十六世纪中叶建造，历经几代著名艺术家：建筑师让·比朗，雕塑家让·古戎，陶工和搪瓷工人伯纳德·帕利西，建筑师儒勒．阿杜安-芒萨尔的建造，埃库昂城堡成为气势宏伟的丰碑。
