The 20th Annual Conference of the Shanghai-Hong Kong Development Institute will be held at the Chinese University of Hong Kong on 30-31 January, 2026. SHKDI was jointly established by Fudan University and the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2001.

At the end of January, Hong Kong will dress in a unique blend of mild winter charm and vibrant pre-Lunar New Year energy. With pleasantly cool weather, it is perfect for exploring bustling streets adorned with radiant red lanterns and festive decorations, glitering harbour, and blooming flower markets. Perched on the hils of Sha Tin overlooking the Tolo Harbour, the Chinese University of Hong Kong blends academic tranguillity and natural grandeur to create an irresistible atmosphere, offering a truly captivating prelude to the Lunar New Year. You are warmly welcome to attend the conference in this beautiful and festive season in Hong Kong.

Theme

The general theme will be "Reconfiguration of Globalization and China's Development". You are codially invited to submit your papers or abstracts for presentation. Academic research papers or policy discussion papers in English or Chinese related to the above theme from all oyer the world are welcome. Special consideration will be given to the papers relevant to Shanghal, Hong Kong, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area, the Yangzi River Delta or the Belt and Road Initiative. Sessions in English and in Chinese will be scheduled separately.

Submit abstracts (approximately 300 words) to https://shkdi.cuhk.edu.hk/conference for peer review

by 15 December,2025.
