这是第61天阅读英文版《傲慢与偏见》，从这篇开始读chapter4，咱不图快，慢慢的每天读一段，把笔记随时写一篇，稳步持续的发布在自媒体平台，钱不钱的无所谓，就是把读这本英文书的过程留个印迹。

词汇简洁注释：
1. former
词性：名词
含义：前者（这里指简·贝内特）
用法：“the former”，用于区分简和伊丽莎白。
2. cautious
就这个词我刚才就没看明白意思。
词性：形容词
含义：谨慎的；小心的
用法：“cautious in her praise”，她的称赞很谨慎。
我补充3个例句，体会“cautious”的用法：
The policy was rejected in favour of a more cautious approach.
这一政策未被采纳，而是选择了一个更谨慎的方法。
American analysts have been somewhat cautious in estimating the size of the B2B market.

3. expressed
词性：动词（过去式）

我钦佩他是一名真正的科学家和勤奋的工作者。
I admired her when I first met her and I still think she's marvellous.

我逐句拆解阅读一遍：
1. “When Jane and Elizabeth were alone,”
描述简和伊丽莎白独处的场景。

简之前对宾利先生的态度，称赞时很谨慎。
