Chinese men's volleyball team middle blocker Li Yongzhen has joined Sporting Lisbon in Portugal for his first overseas stint. His debut was as a substitute in the Champions League, where he scored 1 point.
In a rescheduled match of the 13th round of the Portuguese league, top-ranked Sporting Lisbon defeated Vitória 3-0 away. The set scores were 25-17, 30-28, and 25-20.
Li Yongzhen started and played the entire match, scoring 9 points, including 4 successful spikes out of 11 attempts, plus 5 blocks.
This was the second-highest score for the team. His coordination with the setter still needs improvement, but his blocking was excellent!
