1月13日，死了么APP发布消息称，经团队审慎决策，“死了么”APP将于即将发布的新版本中，正式启用全球化品牌名Demumu。

The Chinese app "Sileme", which translates into "are you dead", announced on its official Weibo account on Tuesday that after careful internal deliberation, it will officially adopt the global brand name Demumu in its upcoming new version, following a wave of public attention and online debate triggered by the app.

据介绍，“未来，Demumu将继续秉持安全守护的初心，把源自中国的守护方案带向世界，服务全球更多独居群体”。

Going forward, Demumu will bring China-originated care solutions to the global market, serving more people living alone worldwide, according to its Weibo post.

据此前报道（），近日，苹果应用商店一款名为“死了么”的App名称引争议。

据介绍，该应用是为独居人群打造的轻量化安全工具，用户需要设置紧急联系人并签到，若连续多日没在应用内签到，系统将于次日自动发送邮件告知紧急联系人。

The development team said in a Weibo post that they described the app as "a lightweight safety tool for solo dwellers". On Sileme, a user can simply check in daily with one click, and Sileme silently monitors the user's status. If the user fails to check in within the app's timeframe, the app can automatically notify the user's emergency contact, the company said.

据BBC报道，这款应用在海外以Demumu的名称上架，在美国和新加坡付费工具类应用中排名前二，在澳大利亚和西班牙也跻身前四。分析认为，这一表现很可能得益于海外华人用户的支持。

The app, which is listed internationally under the name Demumu, ranks in the top two in the US and Singapore, and top four in Australia and Spain for paid utility apps — possibly driven by Chinese users living overseas.

此前，因为这款应用因为名字不太吉利引发争议，“英文悦读”公众号梳理了海外媒体报道中对“死了么”的不同译法。他指出，BBC在报道中将该应用名称直译为Are You Dead?，这种译法在保留原名直面生死、带有黑色幽默意味的同时，也具有较强的冲击力。
