Social media platforms are abuzz over high strawberries prices, which can be as steep as 300 yuan per jin (around 500 grams). Marketed online as "Black Pearl", or "Dark Beauty", these rare dark-colored berries sell for 85 to over 300 yuan per jin, stunning many consumers and sparking calls for more affordable pricing once the novelty fades.
黑草莓产量低、花青素含量高
专家介绍,黑草莓的深色源于其富含的花青素和类黄酮,抗氧化功能突出;白草莓则拥有独特的果香,口感清甜。黑草莓因其外观别致、风味独特,但种植技术要求高、产量相对较低,其价格通常是普通红草莓的数倍。
Agricultural experts attribute the deep color to high levels of anthocyanins and flavonoids, which offer antioxidant benefits. While white strawberries are prized for a unique aroma and gentle sweetness, the dark varieties stand out for their distinctive appearance and flavor profile. Their cultivation is more technically demanding and yields are lower than common red types, resulting in prices several times higher.
据报道,一位电商表示,不同的价位,水果的品质不一样。该电商称,黑草莓也就是真红美玲草莓,有A+级、A级、B级的区分,不同级别在甜度、个头等方面有不同。“这个是2020年左右引入中国种植的,这两三年才面向中国的消费者推出。因为种植量不大,尤其是优质的A果,采购的成本很高,因此价格也比较高。”
An online vendor explained that pricing reflects grading. "The dark strawberry is sorted into A+, A, and B grades based on sweetness, size, and other qualities," the seller said. "Introduced for cultivation in China around 2020, it only reached consumers in the past two to three years. Limited output, especially of top-grade A fruit, leads to high procurement costs and prices."
另据媒体报道,武汉的一个草莓种植园的工作人员介绍,与园内“红颜”等主流草莓相比,“黑草莓”仅占其总种植量的约五十分之一,纯属“试验田”。此品种目前是物以稀为贵,加之独特的营销策略,导致“黑草莓”价格高。“黑草莓这个品种我们今年种得不多,只种了600多株,园内共约3万株草莓,主要都是红颜等主流草莓品种。”
A Wuhan-based strawberry farm reported that dark varieties make up merely one-fiftieth of its total crop, calling the planting "experimental". Scarcity and targeted marketing keep prices elevated. "We grew only about 600 plants this year, compared to roughly 30,000 of mainstream varieties," a staff member noted.
据行业内人士表示,相对红草莓和白草莓系列,黑草莓的糖度更高,基本都在15度以上,能达到16-19度左右。在口感上,黑草莓果体到达9成熟的时候果味更为浓郁,香甜软糯,产区主要集中在云南、丹东、四川、山东等,均为小面积种植。
Industry sources add that dark strawberries generally have higher sugar content —typically between 16 to 19 degrees Brix — compared to red and white types. At optimal ripeness, they offer a rich, sweet, and soft texture. Currently produced on a small scale in regions and provinces like Dandong (in Liaoning province), Yunnan, Sichuan and Shandong, they remain a niche product.
