北京大学数学科学学院网站近日更新显示，从2026年2月起，该院教师韦东奕正式获聘北京大学长聘副教授。
Wei Dongyi, a renowned Chinese mathematician often dubbed "Wei Shen" by netizens, has been appointed a tenured associate professor at the School of Mathematical Sciences of Peking University, effective February 2026, according to a recent update on the university's official website.

据北京大学人事部官网发布的相关规定，学校已全面实施以教研系列预聘—长聘制度为核心的教师聘用制度，教研系列职位由预聘职位和长聘职位组成，包括助理教授、副教授和教授。另外，经学校授权批准，助理教授和副教授可同时拥有副研究员或研究员学术头衔。
《北京大学教研系列职位管理办法（试行）》显示，获聘长聘职位的人员签署无固定期限聘用合同。教研系列人员各项福利待遇与专业技术职务级别有关时，预聘职位人员参照副高级标准执行，长聘职位人员参照正高级标准执行。
Under rules issued by the university's human resources department, Peking University has adopted a tenure-track system with both pre-tenure and tenured positions, including assistant professor, associate professor and professor. Tenured faculty members sign open-ended contracts and receive top-tier professional benefits.

韦东奕1991年出生于山东济南，浙江东阳人。在山东师大附中读高中期间，他曾在第49届、50届国际数学奥林匹克竞赛中，连续两次以满分成绩获得国际金牌。
2010年，韦东奕被保送至北京大学就读，随后参与北大“本博连读特别计划”。2017年12月起，他在北京国际数学研究中心进行博士后研究，2019年12月任北京大学助理教授。
Born in 1991 in Jinan, Shandong province, Wei won two gold medals with perfect scores at the 49th and 50th International Mathematical Olympiads while in high school. He entered Peking University in 2010, later joined its combined bachelor's and doctoral program, began postdoctoral research in 2017, and was appointed assistant professor in 2019.
2021年5月，韦东奕接受采访时手提一瓶矿泉水、两个馒头的形象引发网友热议。网友在了解韦东奕的数学才华和经历后，称他为“韦神”。
In 2021, he attracted widespread public attention after a low-key interview went viral, earning him the nickname "Wei Shen" among netizens.
今年1月19日，北京市科学技术委员会、中关村科技园区管理委员会官网发布《2025年度北京市科学技术奖杰出青年中关村奖评审结果公示通知》，韦东奕位列“2025年度北京市科学技术奖评审委员会评审结果目录杰出青年中关村奖”候选人目录，提名者为文兰、王诗宬——二人均为数学家、中国科学院院士。
On Jan 19, the Beijing Municipal Science and Technology Commission and the Administrative Commission of Zhongguancun Science Park released the preliminary results of the 2025 municipal science awards, listing Wei as a candidate for an outstanding young scientist honor. He was nominated by mathematicians Wen Lan and Wang Shicheng, both academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
