In a preview of an interview set to air Thursday on NPR's Wild Card podcast, Melinda French Gates addressed the latest documents released from the US Justice Department's investigation into the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, which include new references to her ex-husband, Microsoft founder Bill Gates.

美国司法部1月30日说，当天将公开涉及已故富商杰弗里·爱泼斯坦案的剩余文件，总计超过300万页。据美国媒体报道，文件显示，多名美国政商名流与这一涉嫌性犯罪并离奇死于狱中的富商相识相交，其中就包括美国微软公司创始人比尔·盖茨。

据美国全国公共广播电台（NPR） 消息，梅琳达当地时间3日接受采访时称，在爱泼斯坦最新公开的文件中看到其前夫比尔·盖茨的名字，她感到“难以承受的悲伤”。她还称文件中的一些细节，让她“回想起婚姻中一些非常、非常痛苦的时刻”。

Melinda Gates told host that her reaction was one of "unbelievable sadness", according to the video clip posted by NPR. She said the details in the latest files brought back memories of "some very, very painful times" of her marriage.

Melinda Gates said that her ex-husband, Bill Gates, needs to answer for his behavior as revealed in connection with Epstein. "Whatever questions remain there of what — I can't even begin to know all of it — those questions are for those people and for even my ex-husband," she said. "They need to answer to those things, not me."

"I am so happy to be away from all the muck that was there," Melinda Gates said.

美国广播公司（ABC）在报道中提及，比尔·盖茨的发言人此前在回应有关美国司法部最新披露的内容时称，“这些指控绝对荒谬，完全错误。”

Asked by ABC about the latest Justice Department disclosure, a spokesperson for Bill Gates said, "These claims are absolutely absurd and completely false."

此外，美国企业家马斯克在回应有关爱泼斯坦最新公开文件时，曾发文暗示克林顿、比尔·盖茨等人“有罪”。

比尔·盖茨与梅琳达2021年通过联合声明，宣布结束双方27年的婚姻，声明中称，两人认为继续保持婚姻关系已经无法让彼此继续提升。2025年1月，比尔·盖茨在接受英国《泰晤士报》专访时透露，与前妻梅琳达·盖茨离婚是他人生中“最遗憾的错误”。
