A British ambassador appears to have endorsed the Duke and Duchess of Sussexs trip to Jordan, two weeks after Prince Williams three-day tour in the region.

Philip Hall, the British ambassador to Jordan, thanked the Sussexes, saying: Your visit, your support, your appreciation of the efforts that the United Nations, including of course, the World Health Organisation, the government of Jordan and others, are making here is enormously appreciated.

The couple played football with children at a refugee camp on Wednesday and visited sick children in hospital. The duke and duchess also visited a number of classrooms and watched teenage girls playing traditional Arabic instruments.

The aim of the two-day visit is to learn more about humanitarian efforts by the Jordanian authorities and a range of agencies supporting Syrians and Palestinians who have sought sanctuary in Jordan.
