France is ready to help Gulf countries targeted by Iranian retaliatory strikes, French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot said on Monday.
German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul on Monday clarified that Germany has no intention of participating in military operations against Iran. "For us, it means nothing more than that our Bundeswehr soldiers would defend themselves if they were attacked," he added.

巴罗2日在巴黎举行的新闻发布会上指出，法国参与海湾国家和约旦的防御行动将依据法国与伙伴国之间的协议，并遵守集体自卫原则。他警告说，军事升级必须尽快停止，在没有明确目标的情况下无限期延长军事行动，会使伊朗和中东地区陷入长期动荡。
"Regarding more specifically our partners in the region who have been targeted, deliberately aimed at by the Iranian regime, we stand ready to contribute to their defense," Barrot told reporters after chairing a crisis meeting at the Foreign Ministry in Paris.
"Based on their request, in a proportionate manner and in accordance with the principle of collective self-defence provided for under international law," he added.
英国、法国和德国领导人1日晚发表联合声明说，可能对伊朗采取“必要且相称的防御行动”，以摧毁其发射导弹和无人机的能力。
Britain, France and Germany on Sunday issued a joint statement saying they would "take steps to defend our interests and those of our allies in the region".
瓦德富尔2日在接受德国广播电台采访时说，英国已同意美国使用英国军事基地，但德国在海湾地区“根本没有基地，也没有相应的军事资源”，“德国政府绝对无意以任何方式参与其中”。

Wadephul emphasized that the interpretation of this statement varies by country.
He noted that while Britain has decided to provide bases for US use, Germany has neither the military assets in the area nor the intention to join such actions.
