银河系的基本概况

直径：约10万光年（约9.46万亿亿公里）
厚度（盘面厚度）：大约1,000到3,000光年
中心核区域：直径约为1,000光年
总质量：估计在1到2万亿倍太阳质量
恒星数量：约有1000亿到2000亿颗恒星（具体数值仍在研究中）
暗物质：占据银河系总质量的绝大部分，约85%

银河系的结构

银河系是一个旋涡星系，具有明显的盘状结构，主要由以下部分组成：

1.中央核球（Galactic Bulge）

位于银河系的中心区域，是一个浓密的恒星球，直径约为3,000光年。
核球中含有大量老年恒星和超大质量黑洞（银河系的中心有一个超大质量黑洞，质量约为400万倍太阳质量，名为“射手座A*”）。

2.银河盘（Galactic Disk）

这是银河系的主要部分，包含大部分恒星、行星、星云和星团。
盘面直径约10万光年，厚度变化较大。
盘中有丰富的恒星形成区、星云（如猎户座大星云）和旋涡臂。

3.旋涡臂（Spiral Arms）

银河系具有明显的旋涡结构，主要的旋涡臂包括：佩尔塞乌斯臂（Perseus Arm）天鹅座-射手座臂（Cygnus-Scutum Arm）船底座臂（Carina-Sagittarius Arm）盾牌臂（Orion Arm）——我们的太阳系所在的旋涡臂。

4.晕（Halo）

包围银河盘的球状区域，包含老年恒星、球状星团和暗物质。
银河晕的直径可达数十万光年。

银河系的运动

银河系在银河团（Local Group）中以每秒约600公里的速度相对于其他星系运动。
银河系和邻近的仙女座星系（Andromeda）正逐渐接近，预计在几十亿年后会发生合并。

银河系的演化

银河系形成于大爆炸后几亿年内，经过数十亿年的演化，逐渐形成了现在的结构。
它不断吸积周围的星系和气体，进行恒星的形成和演化。
未来，银河系将与仙女座星系合并，形成一个更大的星系。
