一段真实经历，塑造全球视野

A Defining Experience That Shaped a Global Vision

2009年至2010年，艾诚曾在纽约联合国总部新闻发言人办公室及社会经济事务相关部门实习近一年。正是这段经历，让她第一次真正进入全球治理的语境，理解不同国家、不同文化、不同发展阶段之间如何对话，也让她更加坚定：中国青年不仅要理解世界，也要发出自己的声音。

联合国的工作经历，成为她后来人生的重要起点。结束这段工作后，她在两任领导推荐下前往哈佛大学肯尼迪学院攻读公共政策。这段公共政策训练，不仅拓宽了她对全球议题、制度设计与公共表达的理解，也为她后来走上央视财经评论员、国际双语主持人以及科技投资人的道路，打下了深厚基础。

From 2009 to 2010,Gloria Aispent nearlya year interning at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, including work with the spokesperson's office and socio-economic affairs. That experience immersed her in the language of global governance and taught her how nations, cultures, and development paths engage with one another. It also gave her a lasting conviction: young Chinese voices should not only understand the world, but also contribute to it.

Her UN experience became a defining foundation for what followed. After completing her work there, she went on to study Public Policy at theHarvard Kennedy Schoolwith recommendation letters from two former supervisors. That training deepened her understanding of global issues, institutional design, and public communication—and laid the groundwork for her future roles as aCCTV financial commentator, international bilingual host, and technology investor.

从媒体到投资，她始终关注一个问题：科技创新究竟服务于谁？在她看来，真正值得支持的创新，不只是增长更快、估值更高的项目，更是那些能够提升效率之外，也提升公平、信任与人类福祉的公司与技术。

这也是她今天倡导“影响力投资”的原因。尤其在AI时代，技术发展越快，越需要价值观来校准方向。AI可以提高速度，但人类必须决定方向；资本可以发现机会，但更应守护边界。

In her UN speech,Gloria Aidistilled her journey into one core belief:capital is not only money—it is access, trust, and direction.

Across both media and investment, she has remained focused on one essential question:who does innovation truly serve?In her view, the most meaningful companies are not only those that grow fast or scale quickly, but those that alsoimprove fairness, trust, and human well-being.

各位来宾，大家好。我是艾诚，你们也可以叫我 Ms. AI。或许，这正是我今天站在这里的原因之一。我是一名媒体创业者、投资人，也是一名讲故事的人，同时是艾问传媒与艾问资本的创始人。

Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen. My name is Gloria Ai, so you can call me Ms. AI. I believe that is one of the reasons I was invited here today. I am a media entrepreneur, investor, and storyteller, and as you may have seen in my profile, I am the founder of iAsk Media and iAsk Capital.

今天能站在纽约联合国总部，对我而言意义格外深重。我想分享一个小秘密。大约17年前，也就是2009年，我第一次来到这里，作为一名实习生，在联合国公共信息部和经济社会事务部工作。那段经历，改变了我。在那个年纪，这里像是世界的中心，我们渴望被看见，渴望被记住。我甚至给自己印过“联合国风格”的名片，那时的我，没有头衔，没有资本，也没有影响力。

It is profoundly meaningful for me to stand here today at the United Nations Headquarters in New York. Let me share a little secret: almost seventeen years ago, in 2009, I first came here as an intern, working with the Department of Public Information and DESA. That experience was truly life-changing. Back then, this place felt like the center of possibility for young interns like us. We would proudly introduce ourselves, hoping to be seen, hoping to matter. I still remember printing my own UN-style business cards, even though I had no title, no capital, and certainly none of the influence I may have today.

但我有一个信念。如果女性——善良的女性、优秀的女性、有远见的女性——能够被看见、被听见、被信任、被投资，她们改变的，从来不只是自己的人生，而是整个经济、社区，甚至一代人的命运。

所以今天回到这里，从一名实习生，到站在这个舞台上的演讲者与获奖者，这不仅是一段职业路径，更是一个信念的回响：索取时是为了生存，给予时才是开始生活。

But even then, I had a belief:if women—kind women, capable women, visionary women—can be seen, heard, trusted, and funded, they will not only transform their own lives, but also strengthen economies, communities, and generations of families. So to return here today, not as an intern but as an invited speaker and award recipient, means far more than a career milestone. It brings me back to a conviction I have carried for many years:we make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.

我的人生横跨多个领域——从新闻到媒体，从创业到投资，从讲述故事到参与构建故事。我出生在安徽黄山，一个风景极其优美的地方。我在果园和梨树之间长大，但好奇心让我不断向外走，从黄山到北京大学，再到哈佛大学；从联合国到华盛顿世界银行；再到央视驻纽约财经评论员。

My own journey has crossed several worlds—from journalism to media, from entrepreneurship to investment, from telling stories to helping build them. I was born and raised in Huangshan, in Anhui Province, a place of extraordinary natural beauty. I grew up among pear trees and orchards, yet curiosity drew me far beyond my hometown—from Huangshan to Peking University, then to Harvard, from the United Nations to the World Bank in Washington, D.C., and later to China Central Television, where I worked as a business commentator based in New York.

在这些经历中，我逐渐意识到一个现象。在硅谷，人们谈起公司，总会谈起创始人：马斯克之于特斯拉，乔布斯之于苹果，扎克伯格之于Meta。但当我看向中国和亚洲，我看到的是另一种图景。中国在建设世界，中国在制造世界，但许多推动这一切发生的人，却没有被看见。我把这个现象称为“无面崛起”。这也是我回国创立艾问传媒和艾问资本的原因：让创业者被看见，让创新被讲述，让那些推动时代的人，拥有应有的尊重与信任。

During those years, I came to recognize an interesting paradox. In Silicon Valley, when people talk about great technology companies, they can immediately connect the company to its founder: Elon Musk and Tesla, Steve Jobs and Apple, Mark Zuckerberg and Meta. But when I looked at China and Asia more broadly, I saw something different. China was building the world. China was manufacturing the world. Yet many of the people shaping that rise remained largely invisible. I called it thefaceless rise of China. That realization led me to return to China and foundiAsk Media and iAsk Capital—with a mission to make entrepreneurs visible, to tell the stories behind innovation, and to give founders not only exposure, but also recognition, dignity, and belief.

在投资中，我也逐渐理解一件事：资本，从来不只是资本。我们曾早期投资字节跳动、地平线、喜马拉雅等企业。这些经历让我明白，资本不仅是融资滴灌，更是信念、是资源、是通行证。而现实是，女性往往需要付出两倍两倍努力来证明自己的实力，却只收获一半的结果——这需要被改变。如果我们要认真对待未来经济，就必须认真对待：谁被投资，谁被看见，谁被连接，谁拥有第二次机会。金融公平，从来不只是女性议题，它本质上，是社会议题。

Through investing, I have also learned that capital is never just capital. We were fortunate to be early in companies such asByteDance, and to engage with innovative companies likeHorizon RoboticsandHimalaya. Over time, I came to understand that capital is not merely money. Capital is belief. It is access. It is permission. And too often,women are asked to prove twice as much while raising only half as much. That must change. If we are serious about the future economy, then we must be serious about who gets funded, who gets attention, who gets networks, and who gets a second chance.Financial justice is not only a women's issue. It is a social issue.

今天，我们正处在人工智能时代。AI正在重塑工作、治理、投资与生活。但技术本身，并不自动带来进步。AI可以加速我们的奔跑，但只有人才可以决定奔跑的方向。在中文里，“ai（艾）”意味着“爱”。所以我常说，AI不仅是人工智能，在更深层的人类世界里，AI也应当代表“爱”。未来不应只由算法主导，也必须由价值观引领，这也是女性领导力的重要意义。当女性进入决策层，系统就会变得更完善；当女性以能力与共情共同参与领导，经济的增长会更富有人性。

Today, we are living in the age of artificial intelligence. AI is reshaping how we work, how we govern, how we invest, and how we live. But technology alone does not guarantee progress.Artificial intelligence may accelerate how fast we move, but only human values can determine where we go.In Chinese, my surname,Ai, means love. And I often say: AI may stand for artificial intelligence, but at the core of our shared humanity, AI must also stand for love. The future cannot be led by algorithms alone; it must also be guided by values.

That is why women's leadership matters.When women gain access to decision-making, they improve systems. When women lead with both competence and compassion, they make growth more human and more sustainable.

我始终相信中国创新的力量，也相信成为桥梁的重要性。女性不仅可以成为媒体与资本之间的桥梁，不仅是东西方之间的桥梁，更是中国与美国之间、技术与人类之间、创新与社会之间的桥梁。

I stand here today as someone who deeply believes in the power of Chinese innovation, and also in the importance of building more bridges—not only between media and investment, not only between East and West, but also between China and the United States, between innovation and impact, between technology and humanity.

在今天，我想留下一个清晰的判断。在科技与投资的世界里，我们都在面向未来、试图提前理解未来。正如那句广为人知的话，预测未来最有效的方式，是亲手去创造它。但真正摆在我们面前的问题是：这种创造，是否可以由我们共同完成？我们能否以共同的目标、共同的责任与共同的人类关怀，去塑造那个正在到来的未来。

So today, I want to leave you with one conviction. In the worlds of technology and investment, we are all trying to look ahead. As the saying goes,the best way to predict the future is to invent it. The question before us is this: can we invent it together? Can we shape that future withshared purpose, shared responsibility, and shared humanity?

I am deeply honored to receive thisGlobal Investment Impact Award. To me, investment is never only about returns. It is also about responsibility. It is about seeing potential early, supporting it with conviction, and helping meaningful ideas scale into real impact. The most valuable investments are not simply those that generate financial returns, but those that expand opportunity, unlock human potential, and create lasting value for society.

This recognition affirms a belief I have held throughout my career: that capital can be a force for inclusion, for innovation, and for long-term change.Going forward, aligning investment with social purpose and supporting ideas and people that truly make a difference remains a core direction.

It should also expand human capability, strengthen institutional trust, and help society make better decisions.

此次在联合国总部领奖和演讲，对艾诚而言，不只是一次“从实习生到领奖者”的人生闭环，更是一种价值观的再次确认：一个中国女性，可以在全球语境中发声；一个媒体人，可以用内容连接时代；一个投资人，可以用资本鼓励更有温度的未来。

For Gloria Ai, returning to the UN Headquarters as both speaker and honoree is more than apersonal full-circle moment. It is a reaffirmation of her values: that a Chinese woman can speak with confidence in a global context; that a media professional can connect the spirit of the times through storytelling; and that an investor can use capital to encourage a more humane future.
