Universal Music Hong Kong and Florence Chan, a longtime friend of the late Hong Kong singer and actor Leslie Cheung, have issued a statement denying any authorization for recent tribute concerts held in Cheung's name and warning of potential legal violations.
信中提到，售票平台出现多场以“纪念张国荣”为名的演唱会及演出活动信息，不仅使用张国荣的肖像、视频进行宣传，更大量播放其生前经典曲目。
In a letter to fans on Wednesday, they said multiple events promoted as commemorations have appeared on ticketing platforms, using the late singer's image and video footage while extensively featuring his classic songs.
“我们对大家怀念‘哥哥’的行为和观众的心情都报以极大的尊重，始终心怀感念。但是需要公开声明的是，我们截至目前并未对外做过任何类似授权。”
“未经许可使用张国荣先生的肖像、姓名进行商业宣传，已涉嫌违法。演唱‘哥哥’的经典曲目，使用相关演出视频而未获得版权方的合法授权，同样构成侵权。请停止所有非法行为。”
They expressed respect for public remembrance but stressed that no approvals have been granted. Unauthorized commercial use of his name or likeness may be illegal, and performing his works without proper licensing also constitutes infringement.
他们向歌迷呼吁，“请选择合理合法的纪念‘哥哥’的活动和行为。”
Fans were urged to choose appropriate and lawful ways to honor his legacy.
