Recently, MIC has been buzzing with excitement—heated debates on campus, an eye-opening industry visit, and remarkable achievements in academic competitions. Three seemingly different events, yet all pointing to the same theme: Growth extends beyond the classroom.

三个看似不同的活动却共同指向同一个主题——成长,不止于课堂。

英语辩论赛:在交锋中淬炼思辨

美伦思辨阁英语辩论赛火热开战。

围绕“AI能否取代教师”“社交网络弊大于利”两大辩题,辩手们用流利的英语展开激烈交锋。

The MIC SiBian Ge English Debate Competition brought together passionate debaters who engaged in spirited discussions around two compelling topics: "Can AI Replace Teachers?" and "Do Social Networks Do More Harm Than Good?"

这不仅是语言的较量,更是思维的觉醒。 在正反双方的攻防中,同学们学会质疑、学会论证、学会接纳不同视角——这些能力,远比一场比赛的胜负更为珍贵。

This was more than a test of language skills—it was an awakening of critical thinking. Through defending and challenging arguments, students learned to question, reason, and embrace diverse perspectives—skills far more valuable than any single victory.

走进小鹏汽车:在实地中感知产业

UK学部PG和IG年级同学踏上学术之旅,走进小鹏汽车广州/肇庆基地。

Our PG and IG students embarked on a Academic Trip to the XPENG Motors Guangzhou/Zhaoqing Base.

活动从企业简报和展厅导览开始,同学们深入了解中国工业发展与智能汽车产业的成长历程。随后,大家走进生产一线,亲眼见证了先进的冲压工艺、由300多台机器人组成的全自动焊接生产线,以及新能源汽车的总装下线过程。最后的STEM动手环节,同学们利用马达和电池组装简易DIY小车,将工程学原理付诸实践。

The visit began with a briefing and a guided tour of the exhibition hall, where students explored China's industrial development and the growth of the smart automotive industry. They then observed key stages of vehicle production, including advanced stamping processes, fully automated robotic welding with over 300 robots, and the final assembly of new energy vehicles, witnessing cars roll off the production line. To conclude, students took part in a hands-on STEM activity, building simple DIY cars using motors and batteries, applying practical engineering concepts.

这不仅是知识的延伸,更是视野的跨越。

对于商科与经济学同学而言,这更是一次难得的实景课堂——大规模制造、自动化、运营效率、产业创新,这些课本上的概念,在真实的工厂里变得触手可及。当课堂学习与现实科技、商业实践和现代制造业成功连接,同学们收获的是一次与世界真实脉动的深度对话。

This was not just an extension of knowledge—it was an expansion of perspective. For our Business and Economics students, this was an especially valuable opportunity, providing real-world insight into large-scale manufacturing, automation, operational efficiency, and innovation within a rapidly growing global industry. When classroom learning successfully connects with real-world technology, business practices, and modern manufacturing, students engage in a meaningful dialogue with the world around them.

Debate teaches how to think, field trips show how to see, and competitions demonstrate how to achieve. When critical thinking, exploration, and excellence come together, we witness what MIC students are becoming—minds of depth, actions of breadth.
