China’s National Service Industry Conference in Beijing signals a major shift toward high-quality growth of the service sector. In 2025, the service industry exceeded 80 trillion yuan, accounting for 57.7% of GDP, supporting 50% of employment and nearly half of consumption. The focus is expanding domestic demand, upgrading supply, and strengthening public services such as elderly care and childcare.
