The Beijing women's volleyball team, which finished fifth in the Chinese Volleyball Super League, changed their coach to Italian coach Musso, with Dong Yuhan as captain. They also brought in three domestic players to compete in the Asian Champions League in Bangkok: Jiangsu middle blockers Wan Ziyue and Mao Weijia, and Liaoning libero Xu Jianan. In the quarterfinals, they faced Kazakhstan's Seven Rivers women's volleyball team, which had recently added Miao Yiwen. Ultimately, they narrowly lost in five sets, suffering a first-round exit. The set scores were: 16-25, 25-22, 25-23, 17-25, 13-15. Bekic scored 23 points, Dong Yuhan 18, Wan Ziyue 9, and Cao Yexuan 6. Miao Yiwen scored 22 points (20 kills out of 37 spikes, 1 ace, 1 block). Notably, in the deciding set, Beijing trailed 8-14 but bravely saved five match points before ultimately losing.
