To purify the cyber environment, Beijing police have stepped up efforts to crack down on rampant online misconduct that has drawn strong public complaints, vowing to foster a clean and trustworthy cyberspace. The following three typical cases have been made public.

The duo posted the clip on short-video platforms to gain followers, attract attention, and seek illicit profits. The misleading video sparked a widespread discussion online and had a negative social impact. The two have been placed under criminal compulsory measures by public security authorities.

Cyberspace is not beyond the law. Acts such as staging videos or using AI tools to generate and spread false information to gain followers, attract attention, or seek illicit profits not only violate public order and social morality but may also cross legal red lines. Netizens are urged to abide by laws and regulations, regulate their online behavior, and jointly maintain a healthy and well-regulated cyber environment.
