Shanghai Spacesail Technologies, the developer and operator of China's Qianfan low-Earth orbit satellite internet constellation, has launched a new fundraising round, according to information disclosed on June 22.

The company plans to sell a stake of up to 20% to no more than three new investors, with fundraising running through July 17. Existing shareholders are expected to participate in the capital increase, according to the disclosure.

Proceeds will be used for satellite constellation construction, technology research and development, market expansion and general operations. Investors must be China-based corporate entities or other economic organizations, excluding those from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, and any participating consortium must commit at least 5 billion yuan, according to the disclosure cited by Securities Times.
