Loyce Pace, Regional Director for the Americas at the IFRC, warned that shelter remains the most urgent need. With the main international airport still closed, relief efforts now face logistical challenges in reaching affected areas. The IFRC has already activated its emergency response fund, allocating an initial $2 million to support operations on the ground.
