The 31st Shanghai TV Festival Magnolia Awards were announced on Friday evening, with Yang Zi taking home the Best Actress award for her portrayal of Bai Ju in the ecological protection drama Born to Be Alive.
The victory marks a historic milestone, as Yang Zi became the first actress born in the 1990s to win the Magnolia Best Actress title.
当晚，生态环境部官方微博发文，祝贺杨紫获奖。生态环境部微博称：“生态环境特邀观察员杨紫凭借生态环保题材电视剧《生命树》获得白玉兰奖最佳女主角奖，成为白玉兰史上首位‘90后’视后！”
On the night of the awards, China's Ministry of Ecology and Environment (MEE) posted a congratulatory message on its official Weibo account, stating: "Yang Zi, a Special Observer for Ecology and Environment appointed by the Ministry, has won the Magnolia Best Actress award for the eco-themed TV drama Born to Be Alive, making her the first post-90s Best Actress winner in Magnolia history."
6月27日，青海省西宁市文化旅游广电局官方微博@文旅西宁 也发文，恭喜杨紫荣获白玉兰最佳女主角，并欢迎全国游客走进大美青海，见证高原之上生生不息的守护故事。
The following day, the Xining Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television and Tourism also extended congratulations via its official Weibo account and welcomed tourists nationwide to visit the "beautiful Qinghai" and witness the inspiring stories of guardianship on the plateau.
获奖后，杨紫激动不已，泪洒当场。27日，她发文致谢：“再次谢谢白菊。我很荣幸能带着你的眼睛，看到了又一轮太阳升起，看到了荒原种满新绿，看到了守护的意义。谢谢《生命树》，谢谢所有巡山队的小伙伴们。奖杯是所有人付出的证明，好的故事因为每一份传承与努力，才更显得珍贵。”
Overcome with emotion, Yang Zi tearfully accepted the award on stage. On Saturday, she shared a message of gratitude on social media: "Thank you once again, Bai Ju. I am honored to have seen through your eyes another sunrise, to have seen the wasteland covered in new green, and to have understood the meaning of protection. Thank you to Born to Be Alive and to all my fellow members of the patrol team. The trophy is proof of everyone's dedication. A good story is made all the more precious by every act of legacy and effort."
电视剧《生命树》以1996年青海省玛治县（虚构）为起点，讲述女警白菊加入巡山队，与副县长多杰共同打击盗猎盗采活动，致力建立自然保护区的故事。该剧故事情节取材于众多真实事迹，主人公多杰（胡歌饰演）的原型为青海省玉树藏族自治州治多县原县委副书记杰桑·索南达杰。
