Set on Qinglian Island in the tranquil waters of Chengde\x26#39;s Mountain Resort, Yanyu Tower (Misty Rain Tower) is a two-story waterside pavilion built during the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) under Emperor Qianlong (r. 1735-96). Inspired by the famous Yanyu Tower in Zhejiang\x26#39;s Jiaxing, it blends northern imperial garden design with the delicate elegance of scenery in Jiangnan (the area south of the lower reaches of the Yangtze River).
两层楼阁临水而立，朱红立柱配红灯高悬，飞檐翘角舒展灵动，倒映在湖面上格外别致。凭栏可赏湖景烟雨，是北方皇家园林里一抹灵动的江南意趣。
With its red pillars, hanging lanterns, and gracefully curved eaves, the tower stands lightly over the lake, its reflection shifting with the water. From the balcony, visitors can take in misty lake views that change with the weather, creating a poetic atmosphere rarely seen in northern China.
